Literally have no idea what you are saying by continuously bringing up Portsmouth lol. Why are you so obsessed with that example?

You are one season removed from finishing 6th with no trophies. You are not far removed from finishing 7th and not even qualifying for Europe. If all you have is "well Portsmouth finished 8th and won the FA Cup, you're no better than they are" then I guess you totally got us, we're just a trophy winning side with European football on the cards. We are literally the worst.

They finished 8th and had a great cup run

Arsenal finished 8th and had a great cup run

This shouldn't be hard to follow.

Plus, it was Redknapp and Sol in the same picture. Too good to pass up given the swipe at Arsenal.

OH YEAH GOT US REAL BAD POSTING A PICTURE OF ONE OF OUR KEY PLAYERS FROM THE INVINCIBLES

Anyway, I can tell that Goonzy is a sensitive type about Arsenal FC. Noted for later.

But the real news of the day is that Jadon Sancho to Manchester United is seemingly just about done.
OH SHIT.

I think the common thought is that this will sit Greenwood, but I disagree, as I see Greenwood as a natural 9 in how Ole has the side playing. I see the first choice front 3 as Rashford left; Greenwood central; and Sancho right.

I just know that United now have 4 players that can play anywhere across the front 3 positions and all 4 are capable of double digit goals and double digit assists in a season.

Add in Bruno and Pogba behind them? ohhhhh shit. If United go for Partey then I'm going to have a party in my pants.

In the league:

Greenwood .75 G+A per 90
Martial .79
Rashford .82
Sancho 1.3 (lol he’s insane)

Greenwood is the actual trailing player but not by much, I think he passes Martial in output next season if they both get their chances.

No, I just don't tolerate idiocy

Congrats on the FA Cup Gooner, it's a great accomplishment and perhaps Arsenal have finally found their manager. Us Evertonians can only dream of a cup run right now.

trophies are boring

did anyone else's team end the covid break with more injuries than they started with? just everton? cool.

When I first started rooting for Everton, they lacked in raw talent, but had as much toughness, grit, and stamina as anyone. Now, I'm not sure there is a mentally or even physically weaker team in the league. Or maybe it's just bad luck, idk.

I guess it's all relative but Martial had a very good season. I think you're agreeing with me, so I'll drop it.

Arsenal finished 8th in the Premier League and won the FA Cup. They finished the PL with 56 points and a +8 goal differential.

Portsmouth in 2007/08 finished 8th in the Premier League and won the FA Cup. They finished the PL with 57 points and a +8 goal differential.

It's as spot on a comparison in terms of seasons as one can get. You're being the sensitive idiot, goonzy. I'm sorry that you don't like that Arsenal's 2019/20 season was EXACTLY like Portsmouth's in 2007/08, but it was. Facts are facts.

Willian possibly to Arsenal? Would be a great signing on a free

I'd have him at United if we weren't basically locked in to getting Sancho.

This 2 deep chart is getting pretty sexy

------------------------ Martial/Greenwood ----------------------
Rashford/Lingard ------ Bruno/Mata --------- Sancho/Greenwood
------------ Matic/McTominay ------- Pogba/Fred ------------------
Shaw/Williams -- Maguire/Tuanzebe -- Lindleof/Bailly -- AWB/TFM
------------------------------ de Gea/Henderson -----------------

Who else is excited about LEEDS back to the Prem and HARROGATE TOWN getting promoted from the National League up to LEAGUE TWO and joining the ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE for the first time in club history? Leeds is going to take some points from the big clubs next year.

Also - richest game in football happening today with a little London derby BRENTFORD taking on FULHAM. Looking forward to it actually, I've always loved the promotion structure.

Lol that wasn't how you intended it originally and you know it. You were being snarky and pissy about Arsenal winning the FA Cup and tried to discredit it by comparing it to the Portsmouth FA Cup in a way that made it appear to not matter. You are walking it back now and are trying to say "I was just comparing the seasons" but that's as disingenuous as RJ thinks Strick is on the Tunnels.

I'm done talking about it because trying to discuss anything with you is like trying to headbutt a brick wall and hope it decides to give way. I look forward to our Community Shield date with Liverpool where their reserves beat the shit out of our reserves.

OK, sure, whatever will help you process that you just had a season like Portsmouth 2007/08. The exact comparison I made from the start.
