Official Election Month Thread: COUP falls short, nothing to see here

I get annoyed at some of the reporting that is like "X ballots came in: Y to Biden, Z to Trump; Trump's lead now down to N" with no context around how many outstanding ballots there are, the rate at which Biden is catching Trump, etc.

alternatively, this is a helpful way to present information:

Biden would need to win only 60 percent of the outstanding vote (mostly mail-in ballots) in Pennsylvania in order to carry the state. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jonathan Tamari, Biden had won 78 percent of the mail votes counted as of this morning.

what kind of ppl in NC voted for Cooper and Trump

And my father in law, a retired telephone lineman, finally admitted it was because he was worried about the 401k That they live off of.

Some chatter that Alaska Senate seat might actually be in play? Probably wishful thinking, but a ton of mail in ballots still to count.

Imagine being less cool than Alaska

you definitely base your presidential vote on what you think each candidate means for your passively invested 401k balance

Well door #1 is he’s still invested in equities (and if he’s retired and is primarily in equities, well sorry he’s an idiot) and you may kindly point out the market is up 600 points today because everyone likes the stability of Joe or...

Door #2 his 401k is in bonds and cash (as it should be) and therefore it doesn’t really matter who wins.

Biden just captured 81% of the latest vote group counted in Georgia. 617 votes. He is now down 12,835 votes. His total percentage grab on all votes counted today since I started tracking has moved up to 65.8%. That's moved up from 63.5% earlier.

DeacMan I swear to fucking God if you don't start putting "needs X to win" like Juice said, I'm going to fake thread tag you into Bolivia.

GA has 47k votes left and Biden is down about 13k

So for my guy JUICE

Biden needs to win ~64% of remaining votes - which is less than his current for today per DeacMan

47k at 64% means Biden needs 30k of the 47k to tie this thang up
