Crazy that there hasn't been a post on this thread in 2021. Why aren't more Democrats getting infected? Because they hadn't been forced to be in close contact with Republicans.

In LA at least we have good news. The daily death toll is high enough that the # of hospitalizations has plateau'd, so at least the hospitals aren't getting more overwhelmed.
 
So Trump just said they had amazing success with the vaccine. All the scientists said it would be 5 or 7 years. 7 years. Or 5, even 10, 7 years. No one thought it would be so quick...
 
Too bad we can’t vaccinate against stupidity.

Trump would be an even bigger loser.
 
How do you all feel about sending kids back to school in person? Lots of debate here in Charlotte.

Do it half time so you can spread the kids out. Fauci says kids can safely return. I'm afraid kids with fewer advantages than my son are in deep trouble and I'm worried about all kids' socialization.
 
Add Ayanna Pressley's husband to the list of those who likely contracted COVID from maskless pubs during the siege.

Mecklenburg County's Health Director just issued what is basically a stay-at-home order for three weeks, and included schools and businesses in their directive. I don't think they actually control the school system, but apparently the school board is "reviewing" to see if they need to continue online for another three weeks. Guilford County Schools also voted to continue middle and high school students online for another three weeks after hearing from local health officials. Both middle and high school students were supposed to return to in-person A/B Day classes next week. I know some high school teachers in Guilford and they privately think that high school kids may not return this year, or at least until fourth quarter. After yesterday's school board decision I'm wondering if they're not right. It's just a bad situation all around.

We're Guilford and I'm amazed that it's not safe enough to go for classes, but it is safe enough to atten for EoC.
