So Xfinity just limited cloud DVR to 20 hours on 2/23... Now costs $10 extra for 100 hours and $20 for 300 hours. On top of paying $7.50 per box. There was zero notification about this change and the website still doesn't reflect it. When I did a chat with customer service, she said it'd show up on my next bill with the changes. And that it would be in the next Xfinity newsletter available within the app. Who in the fuck reads the Xfinity newsletter on the app? Especially when they pretty much make you do autopay to save $10/month.

I had cut the cord a few years ago and then came back because the experience was so much better than the streaming options.

I think they are about to lose me for good.

I was #1 man on my HS golf team in upstate NY.

I thought I was a good golfer and a big deal... And then I went to Wake Forest and realized I was a hacker.

Along those lines, a friend at Wake had come in the Top 10 or so in the FL Amateur. When he went to see Coach Haddock about trying out, it was suggested to him that he should come back when he won.

it's getting pretty annoying with all the new streaming services. like Discovery+ is the only place to get new Good Eats episodes, and not Food Network which I already pay for with my cable subscription (along with all other Discovery networks).

My parents recently moved to a golf community about 80 minutes from us. I’m really looking forward to focusing on my golf game over the next few years.

what do you DVR?

I refuse to watch anything with commercials except for live sports

I still suck at golf, but I would suck a lot less had I actually started working on it in high school. And my high school buddy's dad literally owns Jefferson Landing, so the high school team's home course was a top 50 course in the state. But I played boring ass baseball on a gravel infield because most of my friends did and they expected me to.

Happy last day of early spring before it rains for the next week. Go enjoy the sunshine folks!

I only play city course golf and that culture is cool

I got invited to a country club in the suburbs and that was not cool -- I don't enjoy spending time among the argyle set

I decided that I'm gonna just be a city course, 9-hole at a time golfer -- suits me great

the weed analog is a good one for the other end of the spectrum

What is weed culture these days? Only weed culture I’ve known is stoner bros in high school.

Another person who helped create 60's car and beach culture has passed. Bruce Meyers, creator of the Meyers Manx dune buggy has died at age 94.

The Manx was the prototype fiberglass body on VW chassis and running gear dune buggy. The front fenders were flat on top so they would hold two beers. The kits he created sold for less than $1000. Those dune buggies became a favorite DYI project for decades.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Public golf in this area means that you pay $60 to play a 5 hour weekend round on a bare dirt patch behind a 5-some of guys in jorts and golf shirts with the tags still on them driving their carts onto the green.

So it’s either that or pay a small fortune initiation to a country club where I’ll be surrounded by jackoff boomer Trumpers I have nothing in common with, or their odious children my age who are only members by getting the legacy discount but think they earned it.
