Totally Unofficial 2021/22 Premier League Thread (NWT)

Not going to disagree necessarily (haven't watched a high school soccer game in almost two decades)...but to me (in-game) personality and intent are what are most important in making this distinction

Probably more relevant for lower tier (HS and the like) but if you’re clumsy enough that you are out there hurting people, even unintentionally, you deserve to be sent off as much as a dirty player.
Leave clumsy players alone
Leave them alone!!

That’s asking something nearly akin to bias from the referee.

Everton can jump into the Top 4 on Thursday if we beat West Brom. I can already see the bottle job incoming. 2-1 to Fat Sam and the Baggies.

Ah thought you were responding to district, who was talking about the referee.

Oh, I see. I did respond to his post which is why that was confusing.

I don't want to disagree with what he said about the ref punishing equally dangerous conduct that was clumsy and dirty. (Although I suppose intent is important to consider too, like Soucek's BS red card that was rescinded)

But I'm more interested in how we can describe a particular player as dirty or not. I don't think mark noble has ever made a tackle with the intention to hurt someone, but I'm certain Julian Dicks has, for example.

Ole hinting that Phil Jones probably won't get fit anytime soon this season.

That's the league gone then. :(

without googling....how tall do you think Luke Shaw is?

Think Shaw is listed at 6' in FM (signed him in my Watford save)

so probably really 5'10.5" ish

online alleges he's 6'1"

i genuinely thought he was like 5'9"

I'm definitely 5-10.5 but was told during my insurance physical last year that I was 6-0, probably so that my fat ass would fit into the cheapest BMI group, so I'm just rolling with that now.

Since then I feel like far more of a dominating aerial presence, and I just kniw that I'll never lose out on a back post header.

So I get it.

His height is apparently a point of contention in analytics circles as there's documented commentary from Sky that alternatively calls him a "commanding aerial presence" and "a diminutive fullback" in the same season and the club has listed his height differently in every season he's played there. Anyway r/mildlyinteresting

Respect to the Wolves for wearing the Portugal colors to make all their players feel at home.
