I'm trying to get his 1st year stats (the above is his Soph year).

great news, welcome Alondes Williams!

i would feel better with an addition of a few big bodies to join him.

I love it. Covid slowed him down last season but he still had some strong games. Most notably, he had a hell of a game against Gonzaga in the second round of the tournament.

Need updated minutes projection.

Or do you want to wait until we land Sy next Wednesday?

Unless it is paid info from Les OTOB, what are the scoops and vibes on Sy?

He's announcing Wednesday. Between us, ECU, Clemson and Minnesota, I think.

My gut tells me who chooses Clemson, but that's just because I'm not going to prepare myself to be let down.

Khadim Sy played against John Collins. Whoa.

(He didn't play much in either game)

Did he personally have Covid-19 this past season? His minutes were way down from the prior year.

Williams is a Grad transfer, so should only be around 1 or two years remaining.

Think he was in the doghouse with Kermit his 2nd year. Sounds like they didn’t have a great relationship. If Sy can play at the level he did his first year at Ole Miss, he would be a tremendous pickup to backup Walton.

Hope to be wrong, but the Alondes Williams commit seems like a nothing burger. He's a below average defender, and not an offensive factor at all in his two years at Oklahoma. Seems like a Jalen Johnson that doesn't shoot as well. Trying not to overrate Hildreth or McCray, but I'm not jazzed about Williams taking minutes from those guys, unless next year's WF team is competing for an NCAA bid, and Williams is playing materially beneficial role. Hard to see that happening.

I think you are a nothing burger.

I look at it more as a low risk, high reward pickup. Underwhelming at OK in terms of shooting, but still gave them almost 20mpg. I think he's a scorer first, which should be helpful with the loss of Dubose. He also has size and athleticism. If he can figure out how to shoot again (he shot the 3 well in high school and in juco), he could be a solid rotation guy on a VERY young team. He's also been on winning teams.

Worst case, he seems like a guy that can compete hard for minutes in practice, providing some experience and making everyone a little bit better.

Oh, and I don't think anybody knows on Sy... He says he's announcing on Wednesday, so there are still a few days to info to leak out.

Williams is a dunker, not a shooter. Not much of a defender. But he brings experience playing for a winning program and a HOF coach and depth.

none of our returning guys can take it hard to the hoop and dunk over someone so even if Williams can only do that, he has a role on this team. My only worry is that McCray, Hildreth, and Lucas are all competing with him (and he's older, stronger, more experienced) and with the landscape the way it is in college basketball, it's hard to see all three of those coming back for their sophomore year if they don't get playing time as Frosh.

Manning's vaunted 5-guard offense is a thing of the past. We're going for the 9-guard roster.

Hard disagree. Lol that you would compare him to Jalen Johnson. Do you really think Johnson would have contributed on last year's Oklahoma team? Alondes will carve out a nice little roll for us next season.
