Man I miss old rap album covers. I been on that Project Pat, obviously but Lil Ugly Mane is new to me. I'll give that a listen while I'm grading Of Mice and Men essays.

it's newer obvi - so purists of the old Memphis Sound might separate it but it gets looped in with the memphis dark/experimental style by some

I can't remember a time when we actually allowed bookbags in our school.

I'm spending the entire day on the river Saturday and I'm seriously considering streaming the game while I'm on a canoe.

i don't think carried a backpack during the day after 9th grade, except to and from school.

wait is this serious? what do kids use to tote around their 25lbs of books

We don't really do textbooks anymore. Everything is on their computers. I haven't handed out a textbook in probably 4 years.

it's really a shame that Melville had to make up a dumb pidgin dialect for Queequeg

interesting. how do they bring things to school? i'd much rather have everything in a backpack than having to keep up with a computer/notebook/pens/etc.

the best ratio of nightmare fuel/deliciousness has to be monkfish. tastes like lobster and the liver is foie grasesque

Monkfish liver is quite possibly my favorite food item on in the world. It's not the easiest to come by, but when its available at a nice sushi spot I'm all in. And I'll eat all of the sea urchin that a spot wants to give me. Especially Maine sea urchin (which I even had in Japan). So sweet and delicious.

Late to the discussion, but I think my favorite sushi fish is horse mackrel. Soooo good. I'm good with most fishes as long as they're fresh, but I definitely don't like ones that are super tough or stringy. And I'm typically not a huge fan of raw shrimp or lobster - just too slimy for me. But that does remind me of a time at a super nice spot in NYC where the shrimp dish was presented with the still alive bodies of the shrimp flapping around on my plate. It was pretty fucked.

we had block scheduling in high school so I had an A-day backpack and a B-day backpack

nobody used lockers in our high school, not enough time to get to them between classes with like five minutes or whatever we were allotted
