it's all relative

St. Louis is meh, but it's better than Muncie, Indiana where I've had to travel for work

I also do a lot of work in the San Joaquin Valley -- near some great national parks, but the places themselves are ooooof

spent a lot of time in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and really enjoyed it

Also all depending what you are doing in the town and how long you are there for. Any town people are somewhat familiar with is probably good for at least 24 hours, no name middle of nowhere off a highway exit or weeks long stay somewhere will most likely suck!

I went to a conference in San Antonio for four days and stayed on the Riverwalk. San Antonio is the shit.

My work travel (pre-pandemic) includes a lot of Chicago, Philly and Baltimore, all three of which I like going to. And before you hate on Baltimore, I either get to hang out with my brother or I stay at the Four Seasons which has some really good restaurants around it, so it has its perks. The next most frequent place is Wilmington/Newark, DE, which sucks big fucking donkey dick. Talk about a bottom tier city/cities. Woof. After that, however, are locations that would be bottom tier, if the bottom tier didn't at least have some standards. These include fine places in Illinois such as Braceville, Byron, Clinton, Morris and Marseilles, as well as the fine city of Oswego, NY. Nuke plants aren't typically located in the most desirable locations.

Why do people hate on B-more? I love that town. But then again, we only go once every 4 or 5 years and go to the aquarium and do touristy shit around the harbor.

I had lots of cool work travel at my previous job. Helsinki and elsewhere in Finland, where I would usually try and tack on some extra days before and after in Europe which brought me to Paris, Prague, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and a few others. Then I went to Mexico City a bunch, Bogota, Medellin, Santiago, Cancun, even Guadalajara was cool. Never made it to Buenos Aires or China, which were trips I was trying to work out pre-pandemic.

Prior to that I went to LA once or twice a year and NYC a bunch.

Current job probably won't have much travel, except to our other location out West and the annual Sales meeting, which was supposed to be in San Diego last month but converted to virtual.

I very much enjoyed work travel 4x a year to London, but was pretty exhausted by the India trips. If I had the chance to spend time outside Delhi or explore the city properly I probably would have enjoyed it more. I don’t see a ton of work travel returning in the near future for me.

yeah my last work trip (and last time on a plane) was Jan 2020, which came about a week or two after we brought our son home. It'd definitely be a lot harder to do that now.

My personal best impression is doing will Ferrell doing Robert goulet

My buddy frequently does Will Ferrell impersonating Robert Goulet impersonating Dave Coulier and I know that sounds stupid but it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Watched the new Netflix Chappelle last night...Dude triggered many people, and I enjoyed every second of it.
