WF at SYRACUSE, Saturday 3:30 ESPN2

Roberson’s catch on the 2 point conversion was a fantastic catch too.

Roberson may not be as dynamic as Greg Dortch or as physical as Sage Surratt or as tall as AT Perry, but he has the best hands of any receiver at Wake in a long time. My 11 year old son said in crunch time, "throw it to number 5 because he catches everything!"

I hated that we lost that guy who went to UVA (I think). Forgot his name. He was great. Never thought anyone would be as good. .....but Stan is.
Stan is fantastic. And let's not forget he was forced to make our basketball program sound interesting for over a decade. Loved the live lookin to the booth. Really cool.

You need to give your 11 year old son a raise in his allowance and an extra dessert.

That underthrow by Sam to Chapman on the first drive still haunts me. Coulda changed the attitude toward the whole game.
We won in spite of dunce plays like that.

The week off will give time for guys to heal up nicks and bumps and bruises. Great to get that at the midpoint.

I'm starting to better understand this team in comparison to other top-15/20 teams I've seen in my life. We are every bit as good as them. We might lose a few games but we might not...Scoop, I know.

Point is, people can say we haven't beaten anyone, but we actually have. Every ACC team we have played would KILL to have our coaches and schemes. We have the 3rd best record since 2017 out of everyone in the ACC and 14th ranked recruiting classes. What we are doing is beyond incredible. If we somehow make it to the ACC championship, this has nothing to do with a down ACC. It has everything to do with our players and coaches exceeding expectations, buying into the system, a handful of super seniors, and disciplined kids who care more about team than individual.

UNC has every resource in the world, a championship coach, top-10 recruiting classes with 4 and 5 star guys and they're 3-3, with a loss to FSU, who we absolutely man handled. We all need to enjoy this season and appreciate it for exactly what it is.

To the folks nitpicking our defense, or lack of sustained drives - that's fair. But it doesn't take away from the fact both sides of the ball have made necessary plays to win games in every game we've played this season. We lost a starting OL before the season started, our star outside receiver, and a Heisman RB candidate, and look where we are. Enjoy the success, people.

The thing I take away from this game is not just a win and a 6-0 record, but the fact that we found a way to win when we didn't have our "A" game. We can almost always win when we play our best but to gut out a win when we made mistakes, miss throws, have drops and make mental mistakes is a sign that we are moving forward as a program. This is exactly the type of game we lose over the last few years.

My hope is that last years' "free" season of eligibility really propels our program forward into the future even beyond this season. It completely reinforces the idea that a place like Wake can take 2 & 3 star athletes and turn them into 3, 4 or even 5 stars al the while earning an exceptional education.

Go Deacs!

Deacs gave up 350 yards rushing on 6 yards per carry

what do you mean "nitpicking our defense"?

I said it is fair to nitpick our defense. But my point is if you look at most other top-20 teams you'll find a weakness. A strength of this team is making big plays when it matters. I'd go as far to say that's the most important strength for any team to have.

And to Deac1244 point, he is correct. Finding ways to win, despite not playing our A game is a sign of a good team.

We played our A game @UVA IMO. If we play like we did @UVA then we could win the rest of the games on our schedule.

Also, look at the massive scores from most every game yesterday. Most all top teams dropping 40ish points and giving up 40ish points. We are imperfect, but so is every other team. No, we don't have iowa's defense, but we are getting the job done.
