Sam Hartman is…..

Has anyone heard where Sam plans to transfer ?

I actually heard JT Daniels is.looking our way if he can't get his job back from Stetson Bennett, but Clawson told him he'd have no shot at beating out Sam.

Hartman was showing a really quick release when he decided to keep the ball and throw. Post snap, two second mesh, then the throw was gone in another second. Three seconds of pass protection is a pretty standard ask of O-lines. Sam just has to be good (and he is) at reading whether the rush techniques and O-line blocking will open up space for five yards or so for the running back.

One of his questionable reads ened with his rushing TD. He kept the ball and was looking for an open receiver for a long time, but couldn't find one because Army had dropped 7 into coverage. As he was looking, the whole middle of the field became vacant and he had an easy sprint to the endzone.

Norman Snead says hello, chuckling the whole time.

https://godeacs.com/honors/wake-forest-sports-hall-of-fame/norm-snead/20

Norm Snead was an outstanding quarterback and ahead of his time. During an era of relatively little passing, Snead put up outstanding numbers through the air, and enjoyed a successful collegiate and long-spanning professional career.

At Wake Forest, Snead was one of the best players in the country. Snead was an All-ACC selection three times along with an All-America selection in 1960. In 1959, Snead was fifth in the nation for total offense and fourth in total offense in 1960. His season year numbers of 123 completions out of 259 attempts for 1,675 yards and 10 TDs made him the second leading passer in the nation.

Snead played for five teams during a 15-year career. He was the second overall selection in the 1961 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins, for whom he played for three seasons. (He was also selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round, 35th overall, in the 1961 AFL Draft.) Snead then went on to play in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles (1964-70), Minnesota Vikings (1971), New York Giants (1972-74, 1976) and San Francisco 49ers (1974-75).

Snead was a four-time Pro Bowl selection in 1963, 1963, 1965 and 1972. He passed for 30,797 yards in his career, with 196 TDs. He led the NFL in completion percentage (.603) in 1972. Two years later, he became only the seventh quarterback in NFL history to complete 60 percent or more of his passes in three different seasons.

Norm Snead was inducted into the WFU Sports Hall of Fame in 1977.

Interesting discussion. Yet, the Hartman trajectory is clearly superior at this point to the others. The others of more than 40 years ago played in an era which makes comparisons of metrics to Hartman not particularly relevant so I really don't care to compare Venuto and Snead to Hartman's current trajectory.

Just tell all your media friends WF has the better QB than Pitt because WF does! Yesterday Hartman's offense scored a TD every 1 3/4 minutes! Hartman's completion percentage was 75% and would have been higher but for some A. T. Perry mental errors.

Sam didn’t have the baptism of fire that John did his first couple seasons. Sam came on to a much more loaded team. Riley had a better defense than Sam does, which means he didn’t have to put up such high numbers to win. I like Sam, I think he is doing a good job with some good receivers in an offense that works for him and that he has had 4 years to figure out. If Sam’s 5th season is anything like this, I don’t know if he stays for a 6th year.

My memories of John are him running for his life and then making something happen, while Sam seems so much more calm in the pocket. Two different QBs, lucky to have had both. Sam may be a better draft prospect though.

Army coach was incredibly complimentary of Sam postgame. Said he is clearly one of the best quarterbacks in college football. Sam with 19 TD's and only 3 int.

Sam Hartman never owned a Dairi-o. #teamrusty here.

I wouldn’t be shocked if this is Sam’s last year if we win ACC- stock isn’t going to be any higher. Also- would imagine he is close to finishing his degree. Don’t think we’ve ever had a QB leave early for NFL so that’s great for the program if it happens and he gets drafted

I think his stock would be much higher after a year of hype.

Hartman is very good friends with Howell. I think Sam Howell would advise him to leave when your team is the best. We’re bound to come back to Earth next year being LOWF and losing a ton of Covid super seniors on defense. Howell would have left last year if eligible.

Jordan Love had a ton of hype coming into his senior year, had a mediocre year and still got drafted. Not sure he would’ve been in a ton of radars if he had left his junior year and didn’t get the hype cycle in the media.

If Sam put up another season next year that is even 75% of what he’s doing this year he’ll be drafted. He’s seen with some former teammates that one year of elite stats is not necessarily enough for the NFL draft.

Not sure if Roberson would look to test the waters after this year but if everyone returns and stays healthy our offense will be SILLY next year. Greene/Roberson/Perry/K Williams at wideout plus the three deep RB position with Ellison looking like a potential star.

Hartman for Heisman has a nice ring to it.

Half a season to go. Roll out that headline. Rev up the hype train.

Don’t forget Morin.

And Morin who is also just a Freshman

I would expect Perry and Roberson to declare barring something changing the season trajectory.

How are we on the OL next year?
