Ongoing gun violence/injury thread

1. What percentage of left-leaning posters have their kids in private schools/went to private schools themselves and yet oppose school choice for other people's kids?
2. Not a one of them actually would raise their kids with the victim mentality/oppressor narrative they are attempting to foist on other people's kids. Of course they know better and privately don't act this way. That's probably why they're so loud about letting everyone know how strongly they "believe" it. Again, just look at their choices.

Those are your top two examples? Ugh. I thought you might have something more substantial.

I've got 3 kids. They all go to public school in their district. But as others have pointed out, that's not what school choice is about. Similarly, you've really done a number on point 2. What choices are you referring to re point 2?

Letting disadvantaged children languish is a system they deem unfit for their own kids and being unwilling to support reforms to that system beyond blindly throwing more money at it seems pretty reprehensible. They know the truth, they voted with their feet and are slamming the doors behind them. Those aren't the good guys in any story worth reading.

eta: I mean, we're discussing the topic of aborting a human life. Every single one of them knows the moral compromise they are making for political convenience. History will be their judge.

Can we get back on topic how the lady was good at math but had to hire a 4th grade tutor and forgo insurance because they didn’t know things like 120 > 115 and 35 x 100 is 3500. Probably just needed school choice!

Yours Truly,
A hard working Middle Class Law Abiding Citizen who is sick of getting fucked in the ass and would rather be grabbed by the pussy.

Yes, back on topic. Turns out the psychopaths parents are missing now. When you’re white you got time for flight!

“School Choice” is just another way to economically segregate schools in districts with forced busing. “Letting disadvantaged children languish” what horseshit - most school districts with busing have a randomized lottery system so that school district tax dollars are spread evenly and each school shares responsibility for a portion of the poorer performing students in the district, who predictably come from the poorer neighborhoods and generally have less involved parents. Your “school choice” is just a method for the most involved parents to all send their children to the same few schools in a single district while the poorer parents either choose to keep their children in conveniently located schools and the uninvolved parents let their children go to whichever default school they are assigned.

With their kid in custody?

It would be darkly amusing if it turned out they fled to Mexico after calling for Trump to build the wall in that insane letter.

Yeah who knows they don’t seem to be the brightest people, see their ability to do 4th grade math. Also on the authorities for holding a press conference announcing charges before they were in custody. However also on their attorney who promised to produce them and remain in contact and then failed.

Meanwhile, you all advocate that other children be sent to their local school while paying tens of thousands to send your kids to private schools, and oppose vouchers that would let the poor kids in. Like a virtue signaling hypocrite.

You've just spewed a bunch of BS. I guess you believe it? It is hard to imagine, but who knows...

Financially supporting underperforming schools, so they can hire more teachers and assistants, is the direct way to benefit those schools. "Blindly throwing money" c'mon.

Sure. What side does history always support? The conservative or progressive side?

Watch what happens when you reasonably expect some accountability from that system. These people who claim to care so much go out of their way to suppress metrics on performance from the schools they care so much about (just not enough to send their own kids to).

Keep puffing and you'll knock all the straw men down.

No they don't. In your mind they do, but in reality they support studying and following metrics that correlate with actual student success. And, they support studying those metrics continuously to make sure they are the right metrics to be following.

Again, all my kids go to public school in their district. So not only are you arguing made up facts, you are arguing a made up specific scenario. You have earned an L.

Do you claim to represent the entirety of the board left? Do you think I'm wrong that there are posters with kids in private school who oppose school choice for others? I'll take that bet.

“Things conservatives swear is true for real you guys” for $100

More that willing to debate this stupid strawman with you on the politics chat thread, and not the gun violence thread
