GATOR BOWL VS TEXAS A&M, psyche RUTGERS

Wake should get one more possession. Perry might get his record if he breaks a short get-the-first-down pass for more yards.

he may or may not have tried to not hit him (hard to give smenda the benefit of the doubt, but not relevant either way) but he did hit him. miles fox didn’t mean to face mask the rutgers QB in the first half but he did and the penalty was called.

i’m probably in the rare minority of folks who like the targeting rule because i think it’s necessary for football to be viable in the future and keeping players from getting hit in the head (regardless of intent) is a big part of it. defensive players will adjust just like they have to all other rule changes.

Credit for doubling down on the bad take. He DID adjust as much as humanly possible by jumping over him. And, the "hit" doesn't even meet the definition of targeting because the contact wasn't forcible.

I don't have a problem with targeting rules in general but they must be reasonable and take into account the realities of a fast, physical game.

Say it again- JUST TRUCK THE QB. SAME DIFFERENCE.

Wake has been burned both ways by this crap rule.

Could be the worst bowl game ever. Rutgers is terrible. It has to be time to get rid of the bowl games. The stands are empty at all these games. Gambling is the only thing keeping the tv contracts going. Go to a 16 team tourney and get rid of all this nonsense.

Well said.

The tv ratings usually end up being decent though, because people are sitting around and have an appetite for football.

Ridiculous. We got weeks of additional practice, the team got a well deserved trip, and we get to send our seniors out with a win. And we had an 11 win season.

I mean you know we weren’t supposed to be playing Rutgers, right?
