2021 Carolina Panthers Thread - Time for the 2022 thread

It is. That’s why we don’t talk about Fit making these decisions. Fit works with Rhule on players but I think Rhule picks his own staff.

I thought it was Rhule who had final say?

I meant regarding Rhule - presumably Fitterer is the one who hired Rhule and is making the decision to keep Rhule on for next season, also Rhule’s freedom over his coaching staff would presumably be at Fitterer’s discretion.

Fit just got hired less than a year ago. Fit didn't hire Rhule. Hurney didn't either. I don't know how closely you follow the Panthers, but Rhule runs everything on the football side at Tepper's discretion. Fit isn't a traditional GM. Fit works with Rhule and Rhule has the final say.

Passss

Also it’s Mick Mixon’s last broadcast today. Guess we’ll never know again what color towel the QB is rubbing his hands on or what the gentle breeze is doing to the endzone flags.

If only Richardson had offered Bill Rozinski an NFC Championship ring after that '03 season, maybe we could have kept him around all these years....

My mistake, I don’t follow news about ownership very closely, just wondered why we only discuss the owner and never discuss the General Manager. Traditionally the GM would be making all the decisions we are discussing here

Right. I think most of us which Tepper had a traditional leadership structure instead of making Matt Rhule the Grand Poobah of Panthers football personnel. Rhule is basically Coach/GM and Fit is the associate GM. A year ago, I think Tepper said he was going to hire a GM and a second GM (presumably associate) to run analytics. He hired Dan Morgan assoc GM in May but I don't think that's an analytics position.

Sounds like win or lose we have the 6th. Since Rhule is coming back might as well try and give Cam a nice send off and fuck with Brady.

I was really thinking Tepper would be a great owner (and he certainly still may be) but so far color me very unimpressed

He’s even worse if you follow Charlotte FC along with the Panthers

3rd highest ticket price in the league

Only MLS team with PSLs

No DPs signed and preseason starts next week (DPs don’t count towards the salary cap and are high profile players like Beckham, Zlatan, etc.)

Just sold our only good player to Europe for profit before he ever played a match with us

How much profit from a player transaction does a guy worth $16 billion need?

Our draft position appears to have been clinched at #6, so don't need to worry about that as this game plays out

Keeping in Darnold for a goal line QB sneak seems dumb. Messing up simple things like that makes me doubt Rhule.

No timeouts left with 5 min left in the half is also questionable by Rhule.

Who did they sell??

Didn’t Tepper hire a marketing guy as GM or whatever the MLS equivalent is?

This is actually a game now. Gotta admit Darnold is having a pretty good game.

And the Jets are only down 3 so the #5 pick is possible if we lose.

The president came to Charlotte FC from Budweiser which makes sense
