I'd argue the Spurs front office has been pretty passive for awhile. They just had Duncan/Parker/Manu and then Kawhi to cover up a lot of problems. Until this season, they didn't seem to know how to do a rebuild. This rebuild should have started last year.

But over the last three weeks, they've done what I've wanted them to do. They've tightened up the roster to get rid of rotation guys in Forbes, White, and Eubanks who just didn't fit the rebuild. Now the roster is emerging stars (Dejounte, Poeltl), young guys who should improve, and Doug McDermott who has become less necessary now that Keldon is shooting 43% from deep and Zach Collins is healthy.

Now they can roll out Murray/Vassell/Johnson/Collins/Poeltl with Jones/Primo/McDermott/Landale off the bench and see what they have before the draft.
 
Trade is fine but Philly is fucked regardless with Doc.

Curry is definitely a big loss for y’all, but Maxey can ball.
 
also if the nets end up winning this trade, fine, they've already got a great team that was going to challenge for the title this year and was set up for the future, and i'm sick of having to care about Ben Simmons, bon voyage, hope the wifi is as good for fortnite in brooklyn as it was in jersey

keeping maxey and thybulle is so nice, i was gonna be really sad to give them up just to unload ben
 
I wish Simmons ended up in some dead end org like Sacramento or Orlando just for laughs
 
I think BKN is a near ideal fit for Ben, game-wise, but you couldn't have ramped up the scrutiny any higher
 
if Westbrook gets traded in the next 38 minutes that would be incredible
 
looks like harden opted into his player option for next year too as part of the trade
 
I mean, people went from saying CJ McCollum was about the best the Sixers could get for Simmons to saying this is a bad trade because they had to give up Curry and a 1st in the mid to late 20s plus another protected first that will likely end up being 2 2nds? Y’all are high. Embiid + Harden is legit

Montrezl Mynezzle Harezzle for Ish, Vernon Carey, and a 2nd? Sad to see Ish go, but I'll take it. Literally no backup PG on a roster now though. Have to assume another deal is pending.

I struggle to understand how Simmons is a net positive in this scenario.
