Not a wonderful take. Yeah there were a lot of other opportunities, but the 2x back to back self-kills with change to take the lead or tie were massive momentum ass-fucks. Can't just look at the box or pbp and make the assumption. Had to watch the body language of both teams at this moment. It was actually huge.

Not the first player he called out...

Literally the first thing he said was to criticize marsh and hildreth for not being good enough on defense
 
In a game when WF was down two players, Whitt couldn’t be trusted to play legit minutes. So, even outside of that turning point of horrendous Whitt gaffes, Carter hurt WF.s chances. Yes, everyone played poorly, but WF needed Whitt to play a handful of competent minutes, and he couldn’t even do that
 
We could start with:
- 6 fouls in the 1st 5 min
- 3 pts and 3 turnovers to start
- 9-32 from 3, 2-14 in the second half
- Giving up career highs to multiple Clemson players

I think there are a lot of places to point fingers at, like how we were down 13 in the first half to a poor Clemson team.

I humbly but hugely disagree with Coach on this. His experienced players made way more critical mistakes on D than Hildreth, Marsh, and Whitt....not to even count the ones on O, too!

Would any one summarize wtf happens tonight?
 
whitt only played 6 minutes but they were disastrous. if you are going to play spot minutes get by with just not fucking up royally

two missed threes, one that was a terrible shot selection and a terrible brick and a brutal fastbreak turnover when you are in the game as the point guard. i havent given him any criticisim this year but with a short bench what he turned in tonight when we really needed him to soak up some minutes was just awful

Kid just can't play at this level. Not the end of the world. Just move on and find other talent. Thank him for his contributions.

Yep. He’s basically at the end of his sophomore year and he’s still this awful. It’s not gonna happen at Wake. Best of luck somewhere else.

could be true, but he's 9 for 40 on the year on threes, why did he shoot 2 threes in 6 minutes? that doesn't have anything to do with talent. one was open, okay, but the other one was an early shot clock deep three out of the flow of the offense and it wasn't close. his head isn't right.

He just sucks and always has. I can't believe he still has a job.
 
I honestly believe that Carter Whitt is the the worst player in the ACC who gets regular playing time. I'm sure that there are some bench warmers out there that are worse but guys who actually play...he is far and away the worst. The best thing I can say about him is that he seems to be a decent rebounder for a point guard. Every other part of his game absolutely sucks. There will be 100 guards in the transfer portal who would be a massive upgrade from him.
 
Whitt is awful. And for all the talk that he isn’t losing games for us, he really has a way of changing momentum in close ones. I can now think of at least two games where I thought we were about to get in control of the game, he comes in and turns the ball over and jacks up a shot he has no business taking (bc really he shouldn’t be taking any) and then the tide turns in the other direction and we never get going again. I’d feel less bad about the pile on of this kid if he would stay in his lane and try to do minimal damage as opposed to thinking he has the green light when he gets in.
 
Carter was the last guy off the bench, so the 8th or 9th guy was the reason we pooped the bed at Clemson. Please. This isn't about whether Carter can play in the ACC, this hanging a loss on him because Alondes couldn't stay out of foul trouble.

Just win the next two at home, cheer like hell against UNC and for Miami. There’s still a decent chance that we get a double bye and make a run in the ACCT and NCAAT.

The other take is if Sy is out and we lose one of the next two home games…we may be in trouble.
