2021-22 Wake Forest Basketball Season - 25-9 (13-7), KP#33

Also, can't remember the last time I woke up on a Saturday during bball season, let alone in March, with no Wake game on the docket but totally jazzed to watch other teams play due to NCAA implications for the Deacs.

This is such an amazing feeling to have again.

For real.

ManMan & the Transfers ....as in Manhattan Transfer....🙂

I like being a ten seed in tourney. Every year a 10 makes some noise.

Beat Miami at home and Clemson debacle and we are 25 and 6 and 15 and 5 in ACC.

Own tiebreaker over ND so we are the 2 seed.

Forbes wins national COY or top 3 in voting.

Instead I fear we grind out a win over BC, play UNC with extra rest and then Duke.

And you know the ACC and refs would want UNC v Duke part 3 for ratings $$$.

And UNC goes from 37 in KP to 30, bumping us down to 31. VT at 29.

Also Colo st is 32 and Boise St is 28, they are playing each other right now.

ETA: Every time Jerry Palm puts us in the bracket (i.e. today) something like this happens. I'm sure UNC will kick us out of his bracket.

Born and raised in “TVs in the classroom” era of Tobacco Road, the last few years I haven’t cared about following the tournament much less watching it.

Now I’m looking to adjust my work schedule around it.

It is truly an amazing feeling to have again.

Yep. I haven’t made an effort to watch the ACC Tournament in a long time. Not sure I’ll watch on Wed or Thur beyond our games but it’s good to be back.

The Bracket Matrix, as of last night (before Palm dropped us out), has the last 5 byes as

Wake Forest
Wyoming - plays UNLV in MWC 4/5 game in Vegas Thursday
Miami
Xavier - plays Butler in Big East 8/9 Wednesday
Notre Dame

the 4 teams going to Dayton are:
Michigan - Plays Indiana in B1G 8/9 Thursday, then Illinois
Memphis - Plays UCF/USF winner Friday
Rutgers - has B1G double bye, will probably play Iowa
VCU - plays Friday, A10

First 4 out:
SMU
BYU
Indiana
Oklahoma

This suggests to me that we don't want to perform worse than Notre Dame or Miami in Brooklyn; in other words, we need to beat Miami to comfortably avoid Dayton (or worse)

I know we complain when Wake is given no respect in CFB for being this little piddly school and no way we're good, but I wanna pull the opposite card in basketball. We're one of the best teams in the ACC this year, down or not, that has to count for something.
