I just assumed a ship could just dock at the island. But it’s Carnival.
 
Port is too shallow for cruise ships. Quality of private island is a huge reason why carnival lags behind RCL and NCL for quality.

Apparently CocoCay used a similar tender setup prior to the 2017 hurricane that demolished the island. The dock was added as part of the island reconstruction. NCL tendered folks their neighboring island while we were at CocoCay on Saturday. So much easier to just scan your seapass and walk off the boat. Tenders would suck.
 
If I wanted to stand in line for 30 minutes to ride a boat for 5 minutes I'd be at Disney trying to get on Pirates of The Caribbean.

MSC docks at theirs. And their island is spectacularly undeveloped FWIW.

What did you have to pay your cellular telephone provider to have cell data in the middle of the ocean? I assume you guys can text/call if you can post on these here RJK Boards.
