Official US Soccer / World Cup '26 Thread (USA vs. Mexico 3/24 in Dallas)

i've kinda poked around at what it might look like to get tickets and it's gonna be like 75% corporate sponsor seats isn't it?

I don't remember seeing a percentage in past World Cups, but 75% seems really high. That said, I would expect tickets to start at $200 or so a game. Demand will be insane.

yeah i was exaggerating to make a point but sounds like it's gonna be a tough ticket

wonder how hard it will be to get tix for the games in mexico

48 teams helps, I plan on watching US games at bars and then going to like a random non high profile match in ATL or somewhere easy to get to. Now if the US makes a knockout run then my back account might be in trouble.

I am hoping beyond all hope that the tickets to the games in Kansas City are not outside of my price range, gonna have to probably start saving now though.

is Arrowhead actually nice or old and shitty? I know SoFi is LA's shiny new toy, but kinda surprised they didn't wanna run it back and have the final at the Rose Bowl.

Arrowhead is the most 80s/90s stadium you could possibly imagine. Has been updated a bit but is a classic older stadium. Will be super loud though, which would be great if the US ended up playing a game there. But I don't think we will sniff any of the hosts in KC, would imagine we won't get any of the premium group games.

I doubt Atlanta will be an easy ticket unless it's a couple of particularly uninteresting sides playing. It's 700-800 miles from the two closest other sites and you can fly there from almost anywhere in the world. Big Latin and Asian draw too.

Lol commanders fucked DC out of a shot. One of the few cities in the US with any kind of public transit infrastructure and plenty of housing to support it but nobody wants to go to fuckin Landover

saw mexico sweden dc in 94. We got tickets there for face which in retrospect was surprising.

The worst franchise in pro sports. I guess I should say worst owner, the fans somehow still care.

I think me and the guy I went to DC in 94 are planning on going to the ATL>

US had 34 shots in their 10-0 win over St. Kitts and Nevis in the CONCACAF U20 opener.

US beat Cuba 3-0 to win the U20 group stage.

Sounds like Zach Steffen could be sold/loaned out - Man City has an agreement in place for a new backup keeper from Germany.

Vargas from Seattle picked up a back injury and will not be joining the team

saw that Henderson might go to Nottingham from ManU so wonder if Horvath might be on the move too

think Chris Brady started the U20 game in goal for the U20 team -- lots of young GK talent for the Chicago Fire

Paxton Aaronson is filthy. US win 5-0. They'll play Costa Rica for a spot in the U20 World Cup. Then the semifinal winner goss to the 2024 Olympics.

Watched our women against Colombia - the 1st time I'd seen them in a while. Only won 3-0 in what should have been a bigger rout but for some poor finishing and some good goal tending by Colombia. A lot of newer faces. Sophia Smith had 2 nice finishes off of sweet passes by Lavelle. Smith and Sanchez looked like the best of the newish players. Couldn't tell about the D and Murphy in goal because they weren't tested.

Sanchez is incredible. The last Spirit game I went to I was talking up Trinity Rodman to the group but Sanchez ran the show.
