2021 Republican Coup (Practice Run)

If not, it’s still important to get as much into the record as possible for a future Edward Gibbon.

Oh, I agree - I want it all on the record for posterity. I just don't think it'll make a damn bit of difference in the short-term.

FBI seized John Eastman's phone a day or two ago. Did it as he was leaving a restaurant.

This is good stuff, I don't know if its worth all the secrecy good, but it does a good job of showing how un-hinged Trump was that day and how he didn't care about potential violence.

Yes, but unfortunately, it's what we already know about Trump even if we didn't know the specific facts and events. All of this is baked into people's politics. Republicans know Trump is crazy and promoted a violent coup but they still support him.

It's definitely a waste of time to discuss public events like cabinet resignations due to Jan 6. It comes off like Cheney trying to whitewash her party.

add something else to the list of behaviors the former president and my 2 1/2 year old have in common: flinging their plate at the wall.

Oh shit. Cheney is calling out witness tampering by Trump and associates.

Will any of it matter? There's probably a Federalist blog post explaining why that's not witness tampering.

We haven't seen enough evidence to determine whether it's actually criminal tampering. It is significant as further evidence of their crimes - innocent people don't need to encourage witnesses to "do the right thing."

I'll go on the record now. There will be high level criminal charges issued against Trump, Meadows, and others related to the attempted coup and Jan 6 itself.

well I don't think "witness tampering" is stated directly in the Constitution, therefore it's not an issue

I hope you're right, but I doubt it. And even if there are, they'll get away with it.

I agree totally with wakelaw13. The only person in this thing who tried to get Trump to do the right thing was the White House Counsel.

There f’ing should be.

Trump refutes Hutchinson testimony. "She is bad news."

man all these folks saying she's not a credible witness would be well-served then to come in and set the record straight

And they will set the record straight on Fox News.
