Living in a smaller city for the first time in my adult life I’ve become much more aware of community dynamics. Holy shit are the anti-development people absolutely insufferable.

It’s a combination of NIMBYs, people who are performative online about their outrage over social issues and people who think that every new development is somehow destroying some special part of Durham. They are just always complaining about something. Most of this shit is being built on downtown sites that are either vacant or completely underutilized anyway.
