Going to maine to visit LadyYB’s sister & parents for New Years. I liked Maine when I was there in March but I think I need to take a trip in the summer to get some good weather.

depending where you go and what you mean by "good weather" you're going to want july through early Sept to dodge the bugs and swim.

Mine is golf, Asian chicks and watches. The worst is when you accidently click a video of a minor and then you start getting videos of teenagers. Like Zuckerberg is literally out there creating pedos

You all are doing porn wrong.

then yeah, you could probably extend in mid-late june though Portland is a little cool b/c of the ocean/wind.

New Years will likely be cold as fuck if you're downtown for the countdown

Yeah I’m prepared to be miserable NYE. We’re going to ski during the day at Sunday River at least. I do not think I could have convinced the lady not to see her family over the holidays for the first time so portland in the dead of winter was inevitable.

i mean, Maine in winter is great if you're mentally prepared for it. I actually like it more than the Mid Atlantic (PA) in some respects.

I've never experienced anything like black fly season in the interior of Maine. I probably lost a pint of blood in Baxter State Park.

Are you concerned about the attack on lanternflies? Are you Jody Smith?

I’m excited to get back to portland. It is a great city with great beer & food. I do wonder how many places will be closed though so options might be limited.

A 22-year-old man was fatally shot in a national forest in Alabama last week by a woman pretending to be a stranded driver after the man and his girlfriend pulled over to help, the authorities said.

The man, Adam Simjee, and his girlfriend, Mikayla Paulus, both students at the University of Central Florida, were driving in Talladega National Forest, about 80 miles east of Birmingham, on the morning of Aug. 14 when they were flagged down by a woman claiming her car would not start, according to a statement from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office posted by television station WBRC.

The woman, Yasmine Hider, pulled out a gun and made the couple walk back into the woods, according to the statement. Mr. Simjee then pulled out his own gun, leading to an “exchange of gunfire” in which Ms. Hider was shot several times in the torso and Mr. Simjee was shot in the back, the statement said.

Ms. Hider was transported to a Birmingham hospital where she had surgery for her injuries. The authorities said she may be part of a group of people “living off the grid” in tents in the national forest who were reported to be “armed and potentially violent.”

A tracking team from the Alabama Department of Corrections found what the authorities described as a “base camp” about half a mile from the scene of the shooting where they said they found Ms. Pinkins near a group of tents.

As officers ordered her to the ground, “a 5-year-old child ran from the woods holding a loaded shotgun,” the sheriff’s office statement said. The officers instructed the child, later identified as Ms. Pinkins’s son, to put down the shotgun but he kept going toward his mother before eventually putting it on the ground, officials said.

If you are in Ashe, Wilkes, Grayson, Alleghany, Wilkes, Johnson, Grayson, Washington, Watauga or Avery counties, I expect some form of communication.

Can’t see Avery County without thinking of Professor Richard Zuber. And Bill Crump.

I saw that the Giver, To Kill a Mocking Bird, 1984, and the Diary of Anne Frank have all been banned. Pretty soon he wont have much choice at all. Next thing you know, the Lorax will be banned for being anti-capitalist.

1984 banned? Need a ruling here.

My bank migrated my checking account to a new account due to a linked external account I did not recognize. Turns out I no longer get ATM fees reimbursed. Now the branch closest to my house closed.

The worst is that I tried to set up a new credit card on autopay and it will not work because it says my bank will not authorize it. This is the second issue of this type since my account migration. Now I have an account I cannot use to pay bills electronically or, in some cases, accept electronic deposits. The bank cannot figure it out.

Anyone have a bank they recommend?

Alliant reimburses $25 a month for ATM fees. No physical branches, however.

I like the cut of your jib, mako - Happy to buy you a drink when I'm back in town for Clemson weekend.

Bro, if you can prove yourself capable of being a decent human on the CT, I'll take you up on this offer.

I didn't realize until today that I have about 400 bucks left on my Covidkids EBT card. I'm pretty torn on what to do with this money. I'm thinking about buying groceries with it for us and then using that amount to fund back to school shopping for kids in my area. Any other ideas?
