Aaron Judge - New HR Champ

Geez, you guys are worse than a toothache.
What I'm saying if you want to eliminate all Team and individual records from the so called "steroid era", it's fine with me.
What about the era when only white people were allowed to play MLB baseball? Or the era when amphetamine usage was rampant among players?

And that says it all: you know shit about baseball. MOST VALUABLE PLAYER.
Say it slowly to yourself three times over.
Y'all just hate the Yankees. I get it. Brave fans still lamenting how they got an ass whipping Yankees gave them years ago.
And the most valuable player is Ohtani. He is a top pitcher and one of the best DHs in the league. He is doing stuff that has never been done in the history of baseball. The fact that Judge was flirting with the triple clown and it was still in dispute is telling you something

Ohtani is an incredible player. One of a kind. His only mistake is he plays with the hapless Angels which hopefully will change in the next few years.
Yanks would of gotten no where this year without Judge. Angels simply went no where.
Ohtani not "Most Valuable" this year, sorry.

Ted Williams hit .406 with the best OPS in 70 years, followed that season by winning the Triple Crown, won the Triple Crown again 5 years later, and didn't win the MVP any of those 3 years (Yankees won all 3 times)

I don't judge who is the best player based on what their teammates did.

Williams (Triple Crown) was screwed in '42 because his Team finished second. It was a travesty. He lost in '41 to DiMaggio's record, epic year. His next Triple Crown Year, '47, he did win MVP, as he did in '46. Yes, you could argue his Teams were never excellent but back then, always better than the Angels. And Ohtani, while unique, is and will never be Ted Williams, the best hitter in MLB history. Ohtani BA alone was considerably lower than Judge (.311/.273) and 25th in the League.

Judge isn't even the best batter in NY. He set the AL record for homeruns in a season. That's an accomplishment and should be acknowledged as such. It's not the all time single season record and it's 7th on the list.

The MVP award is given to the most outstanding player. What Ohtani did this season, simply put, is more outstanding.

It would be hard to be more valuable than a guy who pitched 28 games with 2.33 ERA and hit 34 HR.
Please, now that's total nonsense. Ohtani was 39th in MLB in batting average, Judge was 5th. In the entire MLB he was 18th in RBIs. Judge was first. Lets penalize Judge cause he doesn't pitch.
Only hard issue here is anyone thinking the AL MVP shouldn't be Aaron Judge.

Done, you guys hate the Yankees and it clouds whatever judgement you have. So be it.

Judge in a landslide; deal with it.

It's not a matter of hating the Yankees. I'm a Mets homer. I'll own that. I think folks are giving you a hard time because the defense has been "27 rings" and "you guys just hate the Yankees". There's a case to be made for Judge as MVP. I happen to think that Ohtani's season is more impressive, but Judge is going to win AL MVP and probably run away with it in the voting.

Honest question, if Judge was on the Angels and Ohtani was on the Yankees and we hold everything else equal (their respective numbers and each team's W-L) are you still giving the AL MVP to Judge?

Let's not forget that Judge also has a 0.0 ERA

there is a reason that top pitchers who can't hit a lick are paid tens of millions while nobody pays an outfielder who can't hit.

wrong

Ted Williams must have felt as if he had seen this movie before.

In 1947 – for the second time in his storied career – Williams won the American League’s Triple Crown, leading the loop in batting average, home runs and RBI.

And for the second time, the Triple Crown was not enough to secure the Most Valuable Player Award from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America voters.

On Nov. 27, 1947, the BBWAA announced that Joe DiMaggio of the Yankees had won the AL MVP. DiMaggio, who led the Yankees to the 1947 World Series title, hit .315 with 20 homers and 97 RBI compared the Williams’ .343, 32 and 114 in the same categories.

DiMaggio received 202 points in the voting compared to 201 for Williams, who was omitted from one ballot entirely.

Imagine winning the Triple Crown and being left off of a ballot in the MVP vote

This quote is a shining example of why people make fun of Yankee fans.

PS - I'm not a Braves fan.

I'm agnostic irt baseball, but watched a ton as a kid and don't have a team allegiance. I still think you're being a donk on this thread, my guy.
