Football Deacs in the NFL

Sciba article -- Quick, fun read: "From fish market job to NFL game in 48 hours--, Nick Sciba makes all kicks as Steelers fill-in"

Sounds like Sciba might have pro football emoyment for a few more weeks. Could be more than one week before Boswell is healed enough to kick.

They have a bye so I assume they could cut him and resign him before the next game.

That would be pretty crappy. I always wonder how teams decide on kickers. I would guess there a lot of guys that can hit from 35-40 but fewer longer and be able to kick off into the end zone.

Not a ton of guys that are automatic from 35-40 and Sciba is one of those.

The Steelers reverted Sciba to the practice squad, so he'll presumably be there for 2 weeks or get activated if Boswell isn't 100%. Great news for him!

Cinci may want a new kicker. Missed extra point and kickoff out of bounds.

Sciba seemed a shoe in to find employment in the NFL as the highest percentage kicker in the history of the NCAA. To confirm this opinion I looked up the numbers on placekickers in the NFL last year. I was amazed to find the vast majority at or above 90%. Most had a documented history of hitting field goals in excess of 50 yards more often than not. Tough occupation to break into and there are only 30 available in the world.

Rams play the Cardinals this week and that was Wolford's first NFL start.

She corrected the info and confirmed he entered the protocol on Tuesday.

Yeah. That sucks. They waived Sciba yesterday and signed a guy off the Chiefs practice squad today.

Wow I’m pumped to watch the rams today, hope Wolford has a great day.
