Official 2022-23 College Basketball Thread: UCONN - One Shining Moment

Dan Hurley looks like a guy that would stab you if he ordered a sandwich with no pickles and the restaurant accidentally put the pickles on, but realized it just in time to remove them from the sandwich, but the sandwich had pickle juice on it and he could tell.

@Pittsburgh on Jan 25 could be @Rutgers/@Clemson level bad for us. They are up 43-32 @Duke

Pitt has a 6 ft grad transfer from Colgate who contributes how we probably hoped Ituka would. 10 pts/game

Alabama pulling away from Arkansas. These teems are good and they make Wake look rather small and slow, tbh.

#1 Houston having major problems with USF at the half.

#6 UConn in trouble vs. #25 Marquette.

Duke’s coaching staff now wears performance t’s.

The good news about this Duke win is Wake is playing for 3rd in the ACC right now.

Virginia Tech’s wheels have fallen off and sparks are flying dangerously close to the gas tank.

An interesting off the radar game tonight:

16-1 #22 ranked Charleston (coached by former WF assistant Pat Kelsey) has the longest current CBB winning streak at 15. They play at UNCW, who is 14-3, and has the nations second longest current winning streak at 13. Charleston is a 2 point favorite. UNCW swept Charleston last year.
Just got home from the game. One of the better atmospheres @ Trask I've seen. Tough loss, but had a shot at the end after trailing most of the game. Hope we can start another streak on Saturday.

Colgate is a much, much, much better program than Marist. Marist is truly one of the bottom programs in the sport and it doesn't shock me that Ituka hasn't been a big help especially given his injury. Forbes should look to the Patriot League for grad transfers at the end of this season. Similar to the Ivy League, the Patriot League doesn't allow graduate students to play so there are some valuable pieces leaving via the portal every year such as Andrew Funk from Bucknell to Penn State. Grandison at Duke also started his career at Holy Cross a few years ago.

Jake Stephens from VMI, now on Chattanooga is having a crazy good season. 22.1 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 3.7 APG and 2.3 BPG. On (55/43/85). Would have loved him at Wake, and Forbes was no doubt familiar, but appears the allure of his coach was too strong.

Gotta sting for VMI fans. A conference foe stole their coach and their best player. Oh, and Stephens dropped 37 and 15 on VMI Saturday.

99% of Jao's lack of contribution is due to his injury. It only heals if you don't work it too much, it's super painful, and robs you of your athleticism.

Once he is fully healed I have no concerns about his ability to lead this team for the next 2-3 years. Hopefully he can get a medical redshirt.

This made me look up the box score from when we played VMI last year. Stephens only got 12 points in that game, Kamdyn Curfman is the guy who killed us. Looks like he transferred to Marshall this hear
