WFU Hoops: '23-'24 Roster Construction Thread: +Miller, Sallis, Reid, & Canka

If you want a three point shooter, this is your guy:

Yeah as someone who watches a decent amount of CAA basketball both Timberlake and Nelson can ball. I'd take either but not entirely sure Timberlake feels the guard needs we have

interestingly enough - st. joe's had the first round ncaa right before ours in tampa when we played ETSU

i remember thinking that their backcourt seemed really, really good and surprised i hadn't heard of them (nelson and delonte west)

then they beat us in the ncaa tourney the next season

I think a 3 point shooting PG is a “nice to have” for Forbes, but he values other things more. As in, being a floor general (getting the offense started consistently), get inside the 3 point line and either finish at the rim or find the open man. Appleby, Ituka and Alondes are all down hill types that force defenses to collapse.

Seemed like a guy that was always going to enter the portal to me. McCray probably following. Bradford for sure. Ituka who knows what's going on there.

Seems like a good kid, but Taylor has to go to portal for there to be enough revamp to get us to where we need. The leap from soph to junior wouldn't get it done IMO. McCray I would expect to join and Bradford is a foregone conclusion. Today, Forbes and the staff must be having their meetings. We should have a good gauge of available spots in the next 24 hours. I think if you get 3 replacements and add the 3 freshman, that is enough turnover. That is also coming from someone that likes Ituka and wants him to stay.

Taylor seems like a great locker room guy to have but unfortunately he needs to go so we can get better.

I think Forbes mentioned in the Miami postgame presser that player meetings are happening today.

I liked Taylor as a 3 and D guy. Are there better players in the portal? Sure. Can we get them? In Forbes I trust.

If Taylor wasn't going to be a rotation guy next year, he needed to move on.

He'll be an adequate 3&D guy for some program... Probably better suited for a mid-major.

He definitely developed here, but not enough.

Would have liked to see Taylor and/or McCray get consistent minutes this year because we needed depth but I'll trust the staff knows plenty that I don't. Bad depth is not useful of course.

Best of luck to both.

It's like the staff filled out the portal paperwork and just had to hit submit.

So when should we expect Bradford to make it official?
