WFU Hoops: '23-'24 Roster Construction Thread: +Miller, Sallis, Reid, & Canka

In the next 30 minutes. It's the 30 minutes after that which will have us all on the edge of our seats.

Pretty sure he tweeted his submission weeks ago.
Oh for sure. The announcements today are just "official transfer portal entry" which presumably requires some paperwork - but for the guys who haven't transferred yet that's a pretty simple process in 2023.

Realize that a lot of this has to do with the previous coach and the transition to the new staff, but Isaiah Mucius was the last player to commit to WF out of HS and to stay three or more years. Since then, WF has had nine straight HS/non Euro recruits transfer out within two years of enrolling:

2019:

Ody
Ingraham
Neath
Massoud

2020:

Whitt
Okpomo
Adams

2021:

McCray
Taylor

With the possible exception of Ody (and spurts from Massoud), WF has literally received no contributions from a HS recruit over the last three recruiting cycles. Nothing.

That's....certainly a list of players who exist

Might consider taking two players that can play the point if everyone else except for Bradford returns.

If my math is right, currently we have 2 open scholarships given who has officially entered the portal:

Gone: DW, Appleby, Taylor, McCray, Open Scholarship that we already have (5)
In: Clark, MMM, Friedrichsen (3)

Would guess Bradford is the next domino to fall, giving us 3. Not sure if there is one more move after that, but it seems like every year there is a surprise.

Time to get to work in the portal and get some ballers.

1A and 1B are a PG and a center capable of starting (or at least giving 20-25 mins)

After that I think we try to get the best player possible with a preference to a guard who can handle the ball. Obviously if a 4th slot opens up then it frees us up a bit.

A second pg can work if he can shoot reliably. That was not jao's scouting report and we have no idea what Monsanto looks like assuming he returns.

Would not be surprised if Keller heads back West. Would be disappointed, but not surprised.

Word is that Bradford is gone. Not sure about anyone else on the roster.

Prediction: College of Charleston

That’s where James Griffin went. He was also a great dunker from SC who couldn’t get on the court at Wake. Averaged 11.5 his first season at CoC.

Do we really need the "word" to confirm this? He posted on his IG that he was returning to the portal several games before the end of the season and then he never played again. He either quit on the team or something happened with Forbes.
