CT Vermont, Threeve: I wish I could figure it out but the world's upside down

I had a teacher in 8th grade who played Enya for the first like 10 minutes of every class to help get everyone in the "learning mindset" for social studies.
My 1st grade teacher would play "Puff the Magic Dragon" and "Leavin' on a Jet Plane" on a little record player in our classroom when it was quiet/nap time. Later that school year, we found a pack of cigarettes in her desk drawer when we were rummaging around during this quiet time and she had left the room. It was later that I realized these were her planned smoke breaks. We were on to you, Ms. Dinatale!

My 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Mazikowski, had a poster of Eagles QB Ron Jaworksi on the classroom wall and she claimed for a time that she was dating him, which even to 7 year old me seemed like a crock.

How do we feel about DMB in general? I guess he's divisive in that I have friends who absolutely love the band and have seen them multiple times and then friends who can't stand his music
I don't listen to his music much, but I think the live show is still good and I'm happy to take my wife (who is a fan) when he comes to town.

We were having some drinks in the parking lot before the show and it was a great vibe overall. Some like 35-40 year old hippie lady was walking around with a book that she wanted everybody to sign called the "Love Book" because it was just a book full of folks who were having a great time and loving the environment. She may have been on something a little stronger than weed. Said she'd been to 100s of shows

I think I've seen Dave Mathews live 5 times, but the last time was in Roanoke VA in 1998.

He played with Tim Renyolds in Wait Chapel one year in the late 90's. He kept sniffling and making comments about how the Afrin nose spray was making his nose itchy, but we all knew what he was talking about.

I saw DMB once. It was like 1993 at the Georgia Theater in Athens before his first album came out.

Feels weird typing this but I'm pretty meh about watching the Avett Brothers at Merlefest this year.

our first grade song was beach boys kokomo

Freshman year my roommate and I listened to the Central Park live album roughly 1000 times but I hardly ever turn on DMB anymore.
Ha. Same. My freshman year recorded the MTV special that aired the weekend before Before These Crowded Streets dropped and played that nonstop. Was tired of the songs before the album even came out.

I like DMB ok, mainly for the nostalgia feels.

However, a donor to my last company was his cousin and in 2019 we gave us backstage VIP passes to his show in Charlotte and a guitar that he had signed and drawn on for auction. Talk about moth to a flame for drunk, rich, white women in their early-mid forties. $$$$$$

Was at this show.

Only other time I’ve seen him was at World’s Fair Park in Knoxville with Ben Harper in fall of ‘96. He was so drunk that he was unintelligible between songs.

Ben Harper was awesome though.

had a blast at early avett brothers shows -- remember going to one at Reynolds on State's campus in like 2006, didn't know who they were at the time

they clearly made the right moves by doing whatever they did, but i'm not interested in ever listening to a new avett brothers song again

Never gotten into the Avetts, but I think they might be ok guys, at least? No idea, maybe they're dickheads. I have friends who love them though.

I met their long time touring keyboardist/bass player a couple of years ago at a wedding when we were both groomsmen, and he was a super nice guy.
