The Manning Buyout

If we only had a better home court advantage we wouldn't have struggled during all of those postseason neutral site games.

Of course elite recruits would have flocked to Wake based on that alone. I am sure when K was building Duke up after struggling he said DON'T YOU SEE WE ARE PLAYING IN CAMERON INDOOR STADIUM!!! Didn't matter what he did or said after that since Dawkins and Alarie were puddy in his hands.

K does credit Cameron with much of his success. No one is saying it’s the ONLY answer. All the parts must be firing.

Yes our recruiting has been hampered greatly over the decades because we play in a morgue. It also doesn’t help us keep players. It’s just really that kids get frustrated committing their entire life to something and then playing in front of 8k empty seats and that atmosphere.

What players have left because they didn’t like playing in LJVM?

In the 80’s you may have had an argument in your favor with us playing many of our important games in GSO. We gave up any home court advantage we had, especially when we played UNC, Duke, or State. We did have a pretty good home court at the old Memorial Coliseum. It had a capacity of 8200 and would get loud.

Funny, when I was growing up in the 70s through the early 80s when Duke was mostly mediocre, nobody feared playing in Cameron. Suddenly, when K built an elite program and started making trips to the final four, the atmosphere followed.

I remember one game when we beat #1 UVa with Sampson. It was rockin'.

Ideally we should have a smaller coliseum, but it is an incredibly minor aspect in the success of a program. And when we are good, we win at the Joel, a lot.

The whole arena thing was a great point. 2 years ago. Doesn't matter anymore other than for an addled mind that refuses to pivot and get with the times.

This addled mind makes more money in a week than you’ve made your whole life. In these times. The times you are broke in.

A person with a 10 year work history making $7.50 an hour working 40 hours per week with 4 weeks vacation has made $144,000 over that 10 year period.

So if you’re making 7+ million a year maybe you could have your name on some buildings.

But thanks for the $5K.

I mean at a bare minimum for LK would be at least 52 million. Can’t get much cheaper than .0096% yearly contribution.

I get 7 weeks of vacation. Give me a little credit please.
