Wake-Vanderbilt GAME THREAD - 9/9/2023, 11am Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium - lightening delay

Things worked out pretty well the last time an SEC team was in this complex and we had a weather delay, it was a football type score too.

I went to a game at vanderbilt a few years ago that was a blowout and then had a long weather delay so when the game started back up, there were maybe 200 people still in the stands. I texted my kids to turn on the game because I was going to catch the extra point kick on the next touchdown...I had my choice of seats anywhere in the stadium so I stat right behind the goal posts and decided about 25 rows up was the optimal place to catch a kick. The opponent got close to scoring and I texted my kids again to watch their father be famous and catch this extra point kick. The moment came...the kicker trotted out, I was ready....then that little 150 pound kicker blasted that extra point about 50 feet over my feet . I probably landed on row 75 and some kid ran over and got it. I never got on tv.

Just came over speaker in stadium and said to stay in the concourse because severe weather is still in the area. This is moronic.

“Severe weather” my ass, it’s about in Virginia and the sky is blue

Whoever is in charge of the decision is incompetent. Refs, ADs, coaches. Whatever. O reason not to be playing already
It is a hard and fast ACC rule that there Has to be 30 minutes without lightning in an 8 mile radius.

You can not like the rule, but it has nothing to do with competence

But there isn’t lightning within 8 miles. There hasn’t been since 11:55.

I must not be able to measure distance because that storm looks more than eight miles out on a radar.
