thread for Good Design

something like this

Aite, so just need 4 mil

100x better, I think the next project I want to tackle is to xeriscape/landscape the front yard of our house a lot more, it's just a dumb small sloped hill w/ grass that is annoying to keep cut
Reach out to your local ag extension office. They’ve been a huge help with some smaller things we have planned and also have tons of resources online for local plants and such. Would recommend

Hey I really like our house. The brick is very nice & I think it looks v good. There are about 4-7 homes on our street with the same layout/footprint. Think sears homes were a huge thing here but a lot of them have really held up well.
Yeah I'm joshing you. I lived in Ardmore in WS for the past 7 years. I'm definitely partial to craftsman style bungalows.

love the bosse's house plama, i'm a huge sucker for the all glass walls/giant windows thing

one of my wife's grandmother's family friends had a ridiculous house built on a mountain near chattanooga w/ a mostly glass wall in one of the rooms overlooking this little river/creek and mountains, and I think I'd just spend all my time in there if I could

this is for the bad design thread but have you seen this shit??

utterly dystopian

one thing I don't understand is that we had the same builder for all 4 houses on our little driveway street thing and there's an awesome mountain view to the west, but none of the houses face that way nor have many windows that point that way. I think we're the only one with an upstairs bedroom that looks out on the mountain. it's my son's room. our room is directly below his and now window looking that way. you can see other mountains out the front windows, but IDK why they didn't double up.

LadyYB’s family is building a second house in seven devils (technically a third since they have one and the same neighborhood already but will sell once complete & wedding is done). Going log cabin with a less pitched A frame. Excited to have free use of it

The one thing that is starting to drive me crazy is all the white, grey, black that seems to be taking over everything interior and exterior-wise -- I find that I particularly struggle with brick that has been painted, just doesn't seem right (no judgment). That and I feel like I'm seeing a lot more beige. C'mon folks. Live a little.

Big fan of Harry Nilsson's house in California where he just gave the architect free rein. Might not be everyone's taste, but I really dig it.

architecture is fun to talk about but let's talk interior design too!

just restarted my subscription to World of Interiors

Do they look something like this? These are all over Denver - seems like all the new builds are some variation of this design.

Yeah, pretty much. Something like this in Charlotte:
