Also I wonder, is Taylor Swift more popular because her ticket prices are insanely expensive? Is an artists popularity artificially created by ticket prices?Gonna need to show me some examples here. The artists benefit directly from this. The 3rd party is not minting money. It is the venues and the artists that are getting the lion's share.
he's probably more qualified to speak on this because i don't study psychologyThe implication of critical theory as perspective on traditional psychology is that traditional psychology is incomplete without adequately considering how society acts upon a person. That’s my understanding
Lol no, Livenation made 16.7 Bn last year last time I checked, and all my favorite bands can’t afford to tour anymore.Gonna need to show me some examples here. The artists benefit directly from this. Are you actually telling me or is this a real what if?What if I told you music promoting is, effectively, a monopoly that the government should have an interest in regulating? Like, if you’re gonna be some robotic libertarian about something like attending concerts, can you admit more competition might be good? If the companies putting on shows are this necessary evil, wouldn’t having alternatives be a good thing?
A very interesting question, one which offers some interesting parallels with the visual arts, and I’d add a third dimension, which is does it suggest also higher quality? Also I wonder, is Taylor Swift more popular because her ticket prices are insanely expensive? Absolutely not. Taylor Swift is just insanely popular and has a very dedicated fanbaseAlso I wonder, is Taylor Swift more popular because her ticket prices are insanely expensive? Is an artists popularity artificially created by ticket prices?
My main introduction/familiarity to critical theory is the politically motivated dismissal of evolutionary psychology theory as racist. I am probably sensitive to it as a political mission more than a school of thought.he's probably more qualified to speak on this because i don't study psychology

y not play in some farmer's field 20 miles outside each cityThe problem is the venues. They love LiveNation. They want to lock in deals for as long as the government will allow (I think 10 years is the max now). An artist could, in theory, do whatever they want to do... But they have to have a venue at which to play their music. Those are limited.
I have seen some people debating this recently and I was surprised to learn that. All the intro to Psych and Human sexuality classes I have taken studied Freud in depth. When was Psychoanalysis removed from the field?unless you count psychoanalysis as psychology and the textbooks usually don't
oh man crit theory is way more than that - a deeply anti-fascist practice - very little to do with fighting with pop psychMy main introduction/familiarity to critical theory is the politically motivated dismissal of evolutionary psychology theory as racist.
Shakori Hills ftwy not play in some farmer's field 20 miles outside each city
a lot of the Ticketmaster venues are publicly owned (but I think LN owns a lot of their own venues??), so are they generating a lot of revenue for the community or should they be better looking out for their residents by working to make more affordable ticket options? The problem is the venues. pop psych basically abandons everything after Freud afaikI have seen some people debating this recently and I was surprised to learn that. All the intro to Psych and Human sexuality classes I have taken studied Freud in depth. When was Psychoanalysis removed from the field?
