duke Game Thread (Thursday, 7:30, ESPN)

Love DC and have been a fan since the minute he stepped on campus but tonight feels like a turning point. We're bound to lose a ton of guys in the portal which will cause us to tumble even lower next year. Same vibes as Grobe's 2009 season, and next fall is looking a lot like Grobe's 2010 season. The blowout loss to Stanford that year was the death knell. idk, maybe Clawson turns it around, but with NIL, portal, and the offense falling off a high cliff there's just a bad wind blowing around the program.

Why Josh over Brad? I love Josh as a person but what has he done to instill confidence?
Josh did well at Michigan when he had free reign. Harbaugh’s ego made that short lived and tied his hands. Not saying Brad would be a bad choice, just my opinion on preference for Gattis.

I can't wait to hear our entire team thrown under the bus defending Magic Midge fumbling twice at mid-field with tiny hands and basically giving the game away to Duke.

Should be awesome!

The fact people are calling for Josh Gattis is just laughable but sums up the brain trust on ogboards.com.

Great player - Bad coach

I think it’s also telling we didn’t see Wesley Grimes at all tonight. He has been so bad this year. That’s what hurts about this loss. Our receivers were fuckin’ balling when they were able to make plays.

In 2021, Gattis won the Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in college football, leading the Wolverines' offense to a Big Ten Conference Championship and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Whatever you say, Denise.

Offense was far from perfect but did enough to win this game. Even the trolls from other schools on this board wouldn’t have predicted Wake allows 24 points to a 3rd string QB making his first start.
Ooph. Imagine saying "the offense did enough to win this game" after actually watching the game.

I’ve heard they’ve got an excellent scouting department.

I'm just bummed. Dave Clawson has been such a good thing for this program but it's hard to watch his stubbornness, blind spots, and lack of killer instinct keep rearing their ugly head. As someone else noted, everything that unfolds is so predictable. The program has become moribund.

How many snaps did J. Roberts play tonight and vs. FSU? Haven't heard his name as much.
