My parents do all of the cooking. This is their annual tradition of fussing at one another while cooking a traditional feast. Main thing I want is my moms dressing and gravy.

We should've done a gulags type deal where Windy and 8184 are sent there and have to battle it out with each other to win the hearts of posters. Only the winner remains!

(Just kidding, I actually like WCD).

we've been on a rotation with our families where we do Thanksgiving with my side and then Christmas with my wife's side one year and then switch the next year and it was working out with my sister and her family too. My SIL and BIL fucked that up this year so we had to change things around. So we'll probably be the only ones visiting my parents for Thanksgiving and then at Christmas we're doing short visits with both sides and it'll be stressful.

Are all parties local?

hypothetical friendsgiving for the chat thread

you're bringing your best dish to impress

what are you bringing?

(sorry, ITC -- this is a potluck, so feel free to not come)

I'm making sure no one else is bringing the pumpkin pie, and then I'll bring the pumpkin pie.

A couple we are really good friends with both have divorced parents so they literally have 4 different family groups. I get so stressed when they talk about scheduling holiday plans or balancing family commitments throughout the year. They are all over the place too — Ohio, Atlanta, eastern NC and Virginia Beach.

I am really struggling with the crier on my team. She had a melt down today because she felt another sales person in an org we support was overly mean.
I do not know how to handle this person. She seems overwhelmed with the volume of work, on verge of tears semi-regularly from BEING overwhelmed. yikes

Not quite that level, but I've got three family Thanksgivings on tap:

NJ with in-laws
DE with Dad
NC with Mom

I've also made bourbon pumpkin cheesecake bars (recipe for the bars instead of the cake is at the bottom) a couple of times and gotten very good feedback.
