BillBrasky Memorial Political Chat Thread

Askd and answered. I guess I led with my chin on that one. But it was enlightening, especially from the elder hater who believes we still determined to shit on others even with our last breath. There is some real hate going on there. Interesting how many boomers I know feel that today’s younger generation is the most selfish, lazy generation they’ve ever witnessed. (And have dozens of examples of that)
But to each their own I guess. Just another boomer mindset.
Feel free to lead with even one example.

One thing I’m sure of in my years of living is the ultra rich have been abusing the system.
I have no problem with anyone working hard and honestly to obtain their wealth. But I sure do have a problem how they are allowed to not pay their fair share of taxes. I’m not talking about forcing income equality which I wouldn’t support. But if we had a fair and equitable tax system many of the social programs you say average boomers failed to support or felt they couldn’t afford would have been and still would be very affordable.
Pops, between this, your views on abortion, gay rights (I think), why are you a Republican? It seems you disagree with a lot of the central tenets of the modern Republican Party (without even referring to Trumpism, which I know you also disdain)?

Granted he isn't posting a bunch of populist financialbabble and conspiracy theories about Bill Gates buying farmland because the economy is about to go into a depression.
Reality is just as depressing as that conjecture

I was just about to ask a similar question. If you believe in fair tax system, then how can you support a Republican party that wants to strip funding from the IRS? The entire goal is to fairly collect taxes. What are they trying to hide? It's really a baffling position.

Until you realize keeping (and exponentially expanding) their own money is their only goal.

The answer is simple; I am no longer a Republican. Haven’t been in years. In fact I would describe myself as apolitical.

So I have at least a dozen friends who own businesses, as well as a child. Not to mention those still in the work force who manage individuals. Most of them describe the majority of those entering the work force as lazy. Would you like a few names?

Was everyone entering the workforce back when you were in your 20s a super hard worker?

I think today's worker has more/more stressful obligations outside of work than a worker 40+ years ago but I have no hard data to prove it.
