I am going in on my day off again to set up a new payment terminal system. Why this had to be done today I do not know

My 9yo daughter's basketball game on Saturday ended with a 6-1 loss. I think it set the game of basketball back about 100 years. Dr. James Naismith was spinning in his grave. The whole thing was sad. So many missed shots on both sides. Refs clearly not giving a fuck and just wanting to go home. Parents upset by everything. I got in the car afterwards and was feeling pretty down on the whole thing and then my daughter said, "I wish we were playing another game right now. That was fun!" So I'm raising some sort of masochist I guess.

I was (still am) terrible at basketball as a kid, but my dad would always gas me up by talking about my DEFENSIVE PROWESS. 6-1 game would have been right up his alley for hyping me up.

Because I know neither of my daughters will be playing basketball for more than a few youth seasons, I really just try to keep it fun and positive (as opposed to other sports where I'm like Earl Woods, but only if Tiger had never listened to him and Earl just said passive aggressive stuff all the time).

I do, however, get annoyed because my 9yo will tell me all of the time that she's a really good dribbler and then get stripped of the ball countless times as she's trying to run the offense from roughly half court.

It's like the year when Justin Gray tried to play point guard.

My 8yo looks really, really good at basketball right up until the point when you put a defender on the court.
 
My new tradition of starting Monday mornings off blasting Carly Rae Jepsen's EMOTION at top volume has really done wonders for my mental health.

just had a nice 30 min fire alarm. OFC I was on the way to get coffee and didn't get it yet so couldn't stand outside with a nice hot cup.

Exactly.

I think in this weekend's 6-1 barnburner there were 6 total fouls called (in 40 minutes of "basketball") and roughly 30 jump balls (which is just alternating possession).

Girls basketball is like football in the late 1800s. The boys are all about looking good on offense and firing up shots from all over the court. The girls seem to play with a "it's not a foul if they don't call it" mentality. A tough watch.

He likes to explore when he goes potty and there is no shortage of deer guts to be had in the vicinity around my house.
 
My team scheduled a breakfast at restaurant in our office building today. U fortunately they put an address in the invite for some place 20 min away, halfway between my house and the office. So I got there, figured out I was in the wrong place, went on to the office for this meeting but was not planning to go to the office so all my shit is at home. So I was late AND got some useless commuting in
