ok now that’s funny
At least Clawson is bringing in competition this year to try and push an unproven QB. Baby steps.
Thanks for that tip. Holy shit. What a novel concept!
And by the way. If you want to experience an alternate universe, peruse the other board for a few minutes. It's quite incredible. Certainly not all of the posters but some of them? I mean we're talking all flavors of Kool-Aid over there.
What board is that? I know the fan group of Facebook is always Sunshine and Roses too! What a novel concept!

huh? We lost two QBs (Griffis and Marucci) and we're gaining two QBs (Hecklinski and Bachmeier). Bringing in more QBs is not good roster management.Guess it goes without saying but if he brings in a QB who takes a roster spot and discourages other QBs from transferring here, it’s not a baby step but a step backwards. Unfortunately we need giant steps forward, and quickly. I suppose time will tell.
The Facebook groups are absolutely bizarre. What board is that? I know the fan group of Facebook is always Sunshine and Roses too!
LOLOLOLOL - Good one.I’m waiting to see what Timmy says.
I am guessing this is a buy low scenario. LaTech had a terrible year, and Sonny Cumbie, who is a pretty solid QB coach, wasn't really able to get Bachmeier back to his 2021 form. In 2022 Bachmeier decided to redshirt after first 4 games and then the team went on to go undefeated in the conference and won their division, so its not like his departure really hurt the team. What a novel concept!

I was about to post something similar. It’s feels kinda gross to talk about our roster so transaction-ally, but Hank is a 24yo man on his third college team, he knows what this is. Clawson may have been reticent to look for a QB in the portal because he knew we would be bargain shopping. Hank is the level of QB you get in the portal when you really cant compete in NIL (no offense to RTQ).I am guessing this is a buy low scenario. After 5 seasons playing in college, I am curious to see what unrealized potential is still possibly there. Part of me wonders if this is the best we could get in the portal or if Clawson sees something that he really likes. I also wonder if we still have room to bring in another QB as well.
Honestly, and I am basing this wild and most likely inaccurate speculation purely on in-game demeanor and the position he has been in for the last five years, I’m not sure Kern really cares about being the starter. I think he just likes playing football at wake forest and will do whatever the team needs him to.After this season, I really wouldn't be surprised if we take a second transfer QB, there's a big QB competition in the Spring, and then at least one of the losers of that competition transfers or just quits college football.
I mean Bachmeier is going to be in his 6th year and Kern is going to be in his 6th year. I can't imagine either one of them wants to be a backup QB at this point.
Yeah, I mean if Kern's #1 priority was being a starter next year, you'd think he would've hit the portal given the coach's choose Griffis over him. Honestly I think Kern has a good chance to be the starter next year, even with the addition of Bachmeier.Honestly, and I am basing this wild and most likely inaccurate speculation purely on in-game demeanor and the position he has been in for the last five years, I’m not sure Kern really cares about being the starter. I think it's a lot more reasonable to assume that every upperclassman is hoping for and expecting an opportunity to earn playing time in the upcoming season, and that's particularly true of someone that has already been on the team half of a decade.Honestly, and I am basing this wild and most likely inaccurate speculation purely on in-game demeanor and the position he has been in for the last five years, I’m not sure Kern really cares about being the starter. RTQ has every ability to compete right now in NIL (maybe not with Ohio State or Georgia, but thats a very short list).I was about to post something similar.
