MBB Game 12: ACC Opener - Hokies Visit The Joel - Saturday 2pm - ESPN2

She thinks it's boring and doesn't even watch it when we're at home eating dinner and Wake is on. She just reads a book or something.

Ball was just rolling all around the rim for him today. He will hit his fair share of those most days.
 
I think in a closer game Boopie gets more of those calls. The Jan 22nd matchup of Boopie vs. RJ Davis could be electric.
 
That was a complete win-- very nice thing to see. It would be nice to expect that kind of defensive effort every game. We know that won't happen, but it's nice to know it's there and possible.

I thought Keller was better in the second half. Hard to tell much given that we were playing with such a big lead, but it's worth pointing out given that I'm a critic. He got beat a few more times and was slow to the bucket, but also stayed in front of his man a few times and even found an open lane once on what should've been a dunk/layup (I think it was a goal tend-- he was slow getting to the hoop).

Reid was playing smart early in the second half for a few minutes, then had his shit swatted off the backboard because he made a cautious and slow move to the hoop and immediately got a frustration foul. At this point, it's starting to look like Reid is only going to be able to give us about half a game in minutes due to foul trouble. He has got to quit being such an egghead.
 
4 of our starters are top 16 in ACC scoring and if Elton continues to develop he could easily sneak up as a near double double man in ACC play. Not a stretch to see 5 guys make all ACC honors if you include honorable mentions.

And Hunter has to be the best portal pick up this year In all the land. His abilities on both ends are dare I say Josh Howardish. Similar to Josh he has unusual length for a 2 guard (especially if you look at his wingspan) and incredible athleticism. 9 rebounds!? To go with another 20 point game. Just such A smooth and elite talent.

And could careless what Eftons stats are going forward he is such a diff maker for our D and think he feeds the whole team with confidence on D and guys can be more aggressive knowing he has their back. No layup/dunk drill like we saw against the utes and lsu as he is such a clog in the middle and even when Hokies got past their man they still had shots challenged.

Team seems to be gelling and figuring out roles with a great starting 5 and nice bench pieces with a 3 point ace with Parker and another nice big man with Keller. Marion even had a nice 4 rebounds in limited play. Add Monsanto to the mix when he is healthy?! Just a very exciting mix and Marsh isn’t a horrible big man reserve if fouls become an issue.
 
Just got home and checked out the score as I was away; too excited to wait and watch what I recorded.
Needless I am psyched!! Go Deacs.
 
Won the result, won the metrics. 2-0 in conference play to start analytics-wise.
