Meatball Ron DeSatan and his fascist band of cowardly Republicans

Not DeSantis but still a Florida politician. I'm sure the NCAA is terrified. Nice to see Scott taking on the really big and important problems in Florida.

Casey DeSantis tells people from all over the country to participate in the Iowa caucus while Ron just stands there.

I was there last week and EPCOT was packed on a Friday and MK on a Sunday.

Disney was a bridge too far for a lot of regular people who go along with whatever

Now that his campaign is on its last legs and he's fallen behind not only Trump but Haley as well, DeSantis and his campaign staff have turned their anger onto Fox News and other right-wing media. While he's still unwilling to go after Trump himself, DeSantis now blames the unwillingness of right-wing media to go after Trump as a main cause of his impending defeat.

He recently told some reporters that “He’s [Trump] got basically a Praetorian Guard of the conservative media — Fox News, the websites, all this stuff...They just don’t hold him accountable because they’re worried about losing viewers. And they don’t want to have the ratings go down.” All true, but it's pretty pitiful to see DeSantis whining about the unwillingness of Fox News to go after Trump directly when he's been reluctant to do so himself. It's like he wants Fox and other right-wing media to do all of his dirty work on Trump without him getting his hands dirty himself. They're all terrified to go after Trump directly, and he's got them all by the balls.

There's increasing speculation that DeSantis could drop out if he finishes 3rd in Iowa. He's gone all in on Iowa and has no chance in NH or SC.

DeSantis complaining about conservative media is particularly pathetic because Fox News and conservative money was banking on him to defeat Trump by being "Trump without the baggage." DeSantis let them down.

You could just as easily say, "He’s [Trump] got basically a Praetorian Guard of the GOP primary opponents — DeSantis, Haley, all of them...They just don’t hold him accountable because they’re worried about losing voters. And they don’t want to have their favorability ratings go down.”

Republicans want an alpha who will take it to the establishment. But the GOP contenders are afraid. They could have called Trump old. They could have clowned him. They could have treated him like the crazy old GOP uncle. But they didn't. They don't get that Trump supporters support Trump because nobody in their orbit has explained why they shouldn't.

He can't rightly expect Republican media to criticize Trump when he refuses to do it himself.
It seems pretty obvious that DeSantis and his staff are looking for someone or something to blame for the epic disaster that has been his campaign, and since they're clearly not willing to accept any of the blame themselves, they've decided to blame the very people who built him up as a contender to begin with - Fox News and other right-wing media - for his loss. Better to blame them than to admit that you had the same media in your pocket in January 2023 and you raised and spent roughly $100 million on your campaign and will end up with absolutely nothing to show for it, and your reputation went from being Trump's powerful successor to a national joke and weirdo inside of a year.

I've read plenty of articles and listened to plenty of NPR and podcasts about DeSantis' rise and fall. I listened to a podcast today that finally said what I've been saying about him. He took advantage of an extremely weak FL Democratic Party. That's it. There's nothing special about him or his win. It's a two party system and one party in FL barely exists.

I realize they ran two different campaigns, but there’s some low energy Jeb! in Ron(!).

Some guy crashes an Iowa DeSantis rally and awards him a participation trophy and calls him "our favorite snowflake" before being "escorted" out by security. Neither Ron nor his wife seem to know how to handle the situation - Trump or Haley or Christie would have made a joke of it. They just stand there smiling and looking uncomfortable. Quick on his feet he's not.

In another timeline, Meatball isn’t a total wet noodle doofus and the party would be pivoting to him literally right now over the Trump ballot controversy. Quite honestly we dodged a bullet with this guy being an empty plastic bag because he had some terrifying policies
