MBB Game 28: @ ND - Tuesday 9 pm - ACCN

I remember a guy earlier this year saying that this team has a profoundly negative impact on his mental health and is genuinely detrimental.

I remember thinking what a nut that guy was. May have been the smartest person on here.

That was an excruciatingly frustrating loss.
Probably about 100+ folks that could apply to here...maybe more. Me for sure...

Really disappointed. I think that puts us out again…need a big showing in ACCT

I mean, we lost this game for a lot of reasons. We missed a million open shots in the 2nd half. We ran in Monsanto and Parker and they shot 0% on great looks.

Doesn't change the fact that down 2 we clearly got fouled and should have tied it up, instead the refs gave them the ball to go up 4 and end the game.
It was literally the same exact play that they actually called the next time down the floor with Boopie. Same defender, same spot on the floor, ones a foul, the other isn't. And I would ague that Hunter got hit harder.

We had plenty of chances to win, and laid an egg, for sure. But we didn't get the same calls they were getting. Did it cost us the game? Probably not, but it sure as hell didn't help.

Notre Dame is a tough road game, end of story. That it would be close is not a surprise. That ending sucked and the moving screens throughout the game were a joke.
Monsanto made his second shot.

I hope Forbes' wife makes a full recovery and he gets some rest this summer. Come back next fall and reset. Something wasn't right this year. Just no excuse for how poorly we played on the road with our talent. Unforgiveable loss tonight.

we did not lose this game bc of the refs, come on
I didn’t think we’d actually lose until the last 5 minutes, but I will say that the moving screens when Hildreth was trying to play D and Burton’s push offs were consistently pissing me off throughout the game

You have to put a great deal of the poor road game performance on Forbes....its become a mental thing and and Forbes needs to consult with the psychology dept...both for him and the players....lol.

I wish I could punch Ron Wellman in the face right now. Would make me feel a little better.

Prefer Bzzz…Manning is a foot taller than me, he can pass.

Boopie not under control. He get# sped up on the road. Can’t handle the contact.

Hunter with a bit of a gulp here. He should not feel that he has to do everything.

Cam was good tonight. But he could not stay with Burton.

burton just goes fast to his right. That’s it. Shitty D

I mean, in the last two home games, we've had three more free throws in our two opponents. Last two road games our opponents have eighteen more free throws than us. If we're not gonna get any respect than forbes does need to get a technical

Forbes just needs to revisit everything about what he does to prepare for road games. Practices, travel, hotel, game plan… the discrepancy between home and road performance can’t be explained away as random. There is a fundamental process issue.

I’m not convinced he does any coaching in game. He needs some better assistants
Go to a game. Watch him. All he does most of the game is lumber down the sidelines. His assistants call all the plays and do 90% of in-game coaching. He just is not an in-game coach. And it’s sad because he has everything else. But without that key skill, he can’t bring us an acc or ncaa title. And titles are my standard. We’re the only Big Four school left without a title. Making the ncaa is no longer good enough. He’s done a great job of turning the program around for which we all are grateful. But now let’s see how good the AD hire was. Can he be the AD who finally will find us our young Coach K, young Dean, young Valvano? Does he have what it takes to begin and successfully accomplish that talent search.

Monsanto made his second shot.
No he most certainly did not. Parker and Monsanto missed every shot they took in the 2nd half.

Monsanto scored our only 3 bench points on a first half bucket.

Inexplicable. I think that may have been a season-ending game if we’re thinking about the tourney. Devastating loss.
