2024 Wake Baseball Thread: What Did We Do To Deserve This?

I’m totally cool with being different than last year. Maybe we come together and get hot at the right time and make a run. But we have to get better at almost every facet to do that.

And all jokes aside and meta stats and whatever but we can’t be 13th on the league in BA. Especially when we also aren’t hitting nukes.

This team also has less talent. I think you understand baseball more than the average boards posters, but you can't look at this team and think they're anywhere in the same league as last year's team.

Not even close. I’ve been concerned about unproven bats at the bottom of the lineup from the jump. I think this team is a regional host and if they get hot and come together have a shot at Omaha. If Hartle is right then that’s not unrealistic…. 2 aces takes you a long way
 
I think 1-5 is set in the lineup. Hawke is close to being locked in but not quite there. 7-9 will be a constant search for now. Hopefully someone steps up.

Agreed with this. And hope it ends up being the case.

I’d have to look it up but IIRC correctly Marek didn’t give us much the first 15 games offensively last year

He didn't. He was a weak spot in our lineup until the end of season, and started getting much better at bats in the regionals- Omaha
 
strahm has actually looked good for an ostensibly nepo walkon who is 5’9” and throws an 80 mph fastball

I agree. Also, my 1-5 statement is not counting Marek. His return will definitely help the lineup.
 
Also I don't know what it is about Wake Forest. But any hyped team we have almost obligated to have a ridiculous number of injuries
