Official thread about the movie you just saw

tbf, the movie title “Dune: Part Two” is pretty ambiguous. No way of knowing it’s the 2nd film.

honestly...there were multiple times when i saw the trailer on TV and they never referenced part 2..
I can’t argue with you that you didn’t see it, but every title card in the trailers and teasers has the full title

The not knowing it was part 2 was a play on Ph not knowing it was a part 1 along with everything else I said so weird that Windy is picking up this burden of an argument.

i just did a google search as well. Maybe i am an idiot, i am sure i am. But i swear i recall seeing it and being confused by it....

I actually had this same issue with Part One. I knew from reading reviews that it was Part One, but found it strange that it didn't say so in the trailers, etc. Only it did. The eyes just get stuck on the spectacle from the previews and the title DUNE and then fail to register what's registered in smaller letters below that.

it's just that i actually saw a trailer that confused the hell out of me
or i think i did... now i don't even know what i believe

I thought it would be better as an HBO prestige TV drama than a movie. I knew there could be a part 2 and they were waiting to greenlight it. Dune seemed like an incomplete story without a real cliffhanger (that I remember).

By comparison, we knew Across the Spider-Verse was the second film of a trilogy, but it told a complete story and had a great cliffhanger that left the audience desperate for more.

Yes! I didn’t do marvel vs dune like last time because it was too big a giveaway but it has happened organically as the ogboards gods willed.

Dune was great if you read the book every few years and follow the trades to know what box office number they had to hit to get part 2 greenlit. Sure.

every person who likes dune swears up and down how awesome it actually is you guys i promise it's so good you just have to read it again and then ignore like half of the books

How did the Sarduakar go from the most elite fighting force in the galaxy, who are anointed in human blood, the emperor’s chosen, the only fighting force able to take down the mighty Atreides to pretty much being Storm Troopers?
