no way, grocery shopping is one of those divisions of duty that she likes to do and i fucking hate, plus (for the time being, if i'm lucky this will flip in a couple years) i'm the only one of us working full time right now
but if I were to grocery shop (I do need to on occasion) I would certainly not be going out of my way to get to publix on the other side of town, she likes making that drive because she thinks it is worth it

Here to brag for a sec: My Masters Student, who graduated in May, just won the college wide "Best Natural Resources Thesis" and "Best Overall Thesis Award" for her work on modeling the population viability of a fresh water turtle in California and Oregon. There are 12 competing departments/schools that each nominate their top candidate and her work was deemed the best of the all of them. Wow, I am psyched!

there's a bbq channel I'll watch 15-20 min videos but I usually skip the part where he preps the rub and meat. mainly for techniques on fire management, timing, etc.

yeah, i mean barring specific interest stuff. i've watched some longer things as well but when i'm scrolling around the algo's suggestions i'm blown away by how many super long videos are out there.

on that note, what's the point of video podcasts? a few I listen to also post the videos on YouTube but who wants to watch a few people sitting around a table talking into mics. same deal with how ESPN simulcasts all its radio shows.

I haven't been able to tell if my 5yo son is overly competitive, but this weekend we took him (and our daughters) to our swim team's open house where you have to buy your swimsuit for the summer. This will be his first year on the team.
He tried on his suit, looked at himself in the mirror and said, "I can't wait to beat that other swimmer."
Apparently he thinks swim team is just a 1 on 1 race against a specific kid on the other team. He doesn't know who that kid is, but he wants to bury him.
OTOH, in baseball he couldn't give a shit if his team wins or loses.
