Wake (+7) vs Miss St. in Music City Bowl

Please forgive us state fans. It is absolutely absurd to think that a team who gave LSU it's best game of the year besides Bama would handle a team that couldn't hold Vandy's jock.

On December 31, you will be able to add WFU to list of teams that you were able to keep it close against. Unless we blow your doors off.

Sweet. Like I already said, we'll control the clock and will have the ball 2/3's of the game. You guys might even get a lead at some point, but we are going to really wear you down. You'll see. But I'm done letting you guys know what you are in for. Good luck. My cousins just moved to y'alls area. I am going to tour the campus in a few months probably. Looking forward to being in that part of the country for the first time.

Q: How many times has MSU controlled the ball for 2/3 of a game this year?
A: 0

Q: How many times has MSU won the time of possession so far this year?
A: 1

Really?? 2/3 of the game, huh?

I'm sure you've had to explain this but since it wasn't to me, could you enlighten me on the "Demon Deacons" name.

Will we have to perform a mass exorcism to win?

If Miss St has 40 minutes of possession then I will streak the field at the end.

That's pretty surprising considering they played: LA Tech, UAB, Memphis, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee Martin.

Wake won time of possession 7 times this year, across wins and losses.

Clearly you have no idea. Mississippi State will control the ball for 40 minutes - some guy named BullyBell told me that - he seems credible.

I've met zero Mississippi State fans in my life. I've now "met" two on the boards and they're both just like I would imagine someone from Mississippi being: uneducated, relatively unintelligent, and arrogant as hell.

Not particularly looking forward to mingling with their fans in Nashville to be honest.

Coach34 and BullyBell are the trollerific ones - the other guys seem pretty normal.

Damn Charlie Conway, if you keep whiffing like that you're gonna catch a cold.

I have two cousins who are Mississippi State graduates (mid 1950s). One played basketball and retired a Brigadier General in the Air Force. The other retired after having been CEO of Jefferson Pilot Broadcasting, the forerunner of Raycom. I have a graduate degree from Ole Miss, and probably have been dismissed from the family.

Cool story.

Would be nice if the Miss St trolls weren't complete morons

Will we have to perform a mass exorcism to win?

"The school had gained its nickname in 1922 when a gentleman named Hank Garrity, Sr. took over coaching the college's athletic teams and revived the Deacon athletic program, which had fallen on hard times. As the Deacons started recording wins on a regular basis, the existing nicknames of "Baptists" and "Old Gold and Black" did not seem to capture the new spirit of Wake Forest athletics. When the Deacons pulled a particularly satisfying win off over rival Duke, sports editor Mayon Parker of Ahoskie searched for a new phrase to describe the "devilish" spirit that marked the athletic teams. He found that description in "Demon Deacon."

Wake Forest news director Henry Belk picked up Parker's new name for the Deacons and began using it in the school's news releases. Soon the name Demon Deacon had become a familiar term with all sports fans.

Nevertheless, that's all it remained – Just a name. Then came Baldwin leading the Deacons on the field against North Carolina. He was dressed in top hat, tails, and umbrella, riding the Carolina ram, and while his fraternity brothers roared with laughter at the sight of him, no one realized that the Deacons would never play again without their Demon Deacon. -- A joke was to become an institution."

Also posting this here, apparently UVA has a long way to go in selling their Chick-Fil-A bowl tickets. Just got this email from UVA today. Would be awesome if we could outsell them being a fraction of their size. But honestly I hope every ACC team except Carolina and State packs their bowls with fans.
