You have no idea what the people around Stevens said to Wellman or his people.
Thus to make such a statement starts from a predetermined position.
All I know is this, when we fired Dino, I thought we're getting Brad Stevens- woo-hoo!!!! Then when Jeff [Redacted] was announced, I was- who the f*** is he???????
Your position seems just as speculative based on what we do know.I don't think anyone denies that he fucked up. I think some people here are claiming that [Redacted] was choice #1 and the reason we fired Gaudio was to go get him, and that's simply not correct. We fired him thinking we could land a better coach and [Redacted] was the fall back after we whiffed because we set our sights on coaches who either weren't interested (Alford) or were unavailable due to an incredible postseason run.
Buzz was floated as the replacement 2 weeks prior to it going down. He was the guy Wellman wanted. There were a few other on the list that were dismissed by Wellman as unlikely to come.
I tend to believe low level anonymous posters with info that detailed. Typically it is someone who has inside knowledge who doesn't post a lot, or it is a poster who posts a lot and is using an alias. Maybe I believe more because there are a couple of posters like that who have posted inside knowledge I also knew and got called out, but were right (typically more on the App State side of things, but same premise). Why would someone make up that entire story?

LK, I just mean there are conflicting reports about how many candidates we went through before Bzzz, if there were even any at all.
GuitarDeac's post is subject to one of only two possible explanations:
1. His post intentionally came from Ron himself, through an authorized leaker. To claim you know Ron Wellman's state of mind means either you are Ron Wellman or you are speaking for Ron Wellman.
2. His post is total BS.
There are no other options. No low-level "insider" can claim to know Ron's state of mind, without Ron telling him. Since I doubt seriously that Ron Wellman posts his state of mind on this board, the likeliest answer is #2.
Nobody can possibly know what Wellman's thoughts were are currently are because the man has completely lost the plot.
