Good point Lectro. Another is that Wake doesn't produce many gym teachers like Carolina does. Therefore, we do not have a voice in the kids ear all day at school. When one wants apples, one goes to the orchard. That's F-L-A.
 
I think our Texas pipeline will slowly dry up as there is a new 1 opening between memphis and texas....:)
 
maybe Grobe is trying to find us a secondary coach with Texas roots to replace Billings.
 
I would be fairly surprised if Grobe doesn't hire a secondary coach with strong Florida ties.
 
true I forgot about new coaches Jackson and the oline coach probably have some experience out there.

Doubtful that we will be competing with Memphis for the same kind of student athlete

As someone who much prefers their QB to be a great thrower who can possibly run, than a runner who can possibly throw I would not be in that consensus. The loss of Morris was a bigger blow to the WF class than not getting Duncan or Davis IMO. Kid looked like a hell of a QB.

We'll see. Personally, I'm pretty excited about our QB situation for the next few years. My top concerns are D line and RBs.
 
I didn't see a lot of video on Morris so I cannot compare, but I wasn't overly impressed with the accuracy and arm strength of Cameron. But he is a kid with plenty of time to grow. I don't expect him to have to worry about playing for at least another 2 years. He did have a lot of big time offers so the potential is obviously there. I think coming in early as he did shows what kind of work ethic he has and he looks like a great decision maker on the field. I think he will be what Mauk was suppose to be for us when he gets his turn.

this. QB is set for the next 4-5 years and we will continue to bring in qb's. We do need some quality depth at rb and DL. We are also going to need to bring in a few good lb's and safeties this class. And some big o-linemen as well.We don't use fb's much anymore so I don't know how we are going to be with T-Bo leaving this year, Emert should fill in nicely when needed.

Do we try to bring in a wr or two in the Camp, Givens, and Brown mold as our last 4 wr have been pretty big guys comparably?

Not expecting any commits this weekend, but hoping for one soon.
 
Is this the year that we finally land a Top 100 recruit? I sure hope so...we need some immediate impact players, at least every once in awhile damnit!
 
The only top 250 guy we've ever landed was AJ Marshall correct? A top 100 guy would be an unbelievable get for the deacs
 
Any news or updates from Junior Day?

If the recruits happened to go to the basketball game today, they couldn't have picked a better one
 
The Junior day recruits went to the game, and reports from the students suggest they had a great time. We licked out that the BC game happened to be this weekend.

Maybe BC is the reason we scheduled Junior day so late :p

I know you can't put a tremendous amount of stock in the rankings, but the kid played 5A ball in Texas at a top notch HS and was Committed to Bama for a long time and never got above a mid 3 star on Rivals. Believe me, if anyone was gonna get the benefit of the doubt on those rankings it would be a kid who was going to Bama. The experts weren't that impressed with Morris.
 
I'm not sure what film you have seen of Cameron but he is a better thrower and runner than Morris.

Better QB prospect.

Morris is what Alabama likes... a manager who can hand the ball off to the stable and complete 12 of 17 on mostly dink and dunk with an occasional rainbow launched to whatever guy they have impersonating Julio Jones at the time.

Tyler Cameron is a playmaker.
