Ah, thanks last.fm. They nailed it.

DIIV is a project of Beach Fossils guitarist Cole Smith and ex-Smith Westerns drummer Colby Hewitt

Sounds exactly like Real Estate, although the vocals are bit more washed out.

Last.fm is dope. It really helped me navigate the Swedish Prog rock scene. I really think that you'd dig the soundcarriers.

DIIV is good, Beach Fossils sound but trending more towards straightforward rock with a touch of new wave. Really like their first effort.

Yo TAB, bet you'd dig this Spotlight Kid album on Spinner. Chillwave spacepunk is how I'd describe it.

Townie, I thought you'd appreciate the virtuosity of the harp in the above clip.

today Submarines is my favorite Lumineers song, mostly because i liked the mixed-measure phrasing.
1 2 3 - 1 2 - 1 2 3 - 1 2 3 - 1 2 - 1 2 3

I said I wasn't gonna compile my year end lists this year cause I lost all my research and a lot of my new music/playlists when I spilleda beer on my computer. Plus deacvision always manages to make me feel shitty about myself. But I've gotten a couple people asking me, so here's my request: y'all start putting shit together as well, albums and tracks, so we can compare like we did midyear.

Cheers.

Awesome! I was really hoping you'd put one out still. I'll have mine in the next couple of weeks. Not really sure what's being released in the next month.

I have a pretty short list for 2012. Not the best year. Maybe 15 songs and 5-7 albums are even woth mentioning. The death of buzz is upon us.

TAB's albums list (SNEAK PEEK)

1. Grimes
2. Grimes
3. Grimes
4. Grimes
5. Grimes

This may well be the best day of my life. Got front row Jeff Mangum tix February in York, pa.

I feel very sorry for you buddy......York, PA? A concert and a tour of the barbell factory?

I definitely want to see some end-of-year lists from you guys. I feel like there have been plenty of albums this year that I liked, but only a couple that I have really gone back to a bunch, whereas there are still a ton of albums from 2011 that I still listen to frequently.

Don't feel bad. Hell, I went to Duke football stadium to see The Stones, it's the least I could do to see the lead singer of my favorite band.

They used have a two day festival at Duke that was great.

I saw Bonnie and Mississippi Fred McDowell at Duke and Joni Mitchell at Cameron.
