Overall I agree. But, I want Bzz to go today - and an interim is the only way to do for the rest of the season.

Its amazing how every single sport at WFU is going down the drain at the same exact time.

This is what I've been saying (and hearing) for almost 2 years now. The response from the BuzzINNERs has always been that you CAN'T fire a coach in mid-season. But UNC-G did last year and it worked out pretty well for them. I'd really like to see Coach Battle have a chance to finish the year with this group. He certainly can't do any worse than Buzz has done.

You might have been suggesting it with your post but it's not amazing, it's not coincidence, it's caused by a systematic failure of the AD and the university admin. as a whole will also be responsible if they don't address these problems that exist in a huge branch of the school (athletics).

I think even the Stetson coach resigned during the same season, they crushed us.

At this point, I will back any method that gets this idiot away from my beloved Deacs. 3 of my 4 undergrad years were Bob Staak, and I still can't believe what I'm watching at this point in 2012.

THAT would be a good half-time show. I have no plans to attend another Wake game as long as Buzz is here. But in that case, I'd probably make an exception.

We are looking at a 10 win season with our current performances. I can't see any way he survives if that happens. He might even fall on the sword himself in that scenario.

He does not have the "character" to fall on his "sword". He knows that he will never find another sucker like Ron Wellman so he will milk this job for all it's worth. He will have to be fired or at least given the ultimatum.
 
Wellman will give Bzzz at least 2 years with his recruits. If we still suck after next season, I expect he will resign or something, but I doubt his pal Ron ever fires him.

At least if Ph were the coach, I would have some consistent interest in WFU basketball. We couldn't be any worse and there would be great humor potential. As it is, I have absolutely no interest in WFU basketball 95% of the time and am burdened by unmitigated rage 5% of the time.

I hope it's not, but the prevailing sentiment of some of the donors I've talked to in Winston have been convinced this was a crony hire from the start. I'd just be surprised if Wellman didn't give Bzz 2 years with his recruits given how much he's stood up for him until now.
