Official Wake - Vandy game thread

Color me shocked. First drive was creative and aggressive. Am I dreaming?

So after a gift of a first and goal from the two, we barely score on fourth down.

Positive result, but not exactly confidence-building.

We were lucky. Got a nice Price play on a 3rd and long and got that PI on 3rd and long on what could have been an uncatchable.

Let's just stay in the game and try to steal it.

Let's not get too critical. We got in.

There will probably be a lot more to complain about but that drive wasn't it.

What does the wildcat accomplish in the red zone that the I would not? If anything, the I at least presents the threat of the pass.

Takes a defender out of box. So if you have 2 rbs, te, 2 wrs that gets you 5 ol and a qb. with wildcat, then that makes the qb a wr essentially, taking a defender out of box.

Anybody else mentioned that this Anish guy on play-by-play sounds just like Steve Levy?

Okoro can't even face mask right. I'm ready to not see him on the field again.

Does.that outweigh the near complete elimination of the pass threat?
And yes I know Deandre can throw a little, but he's not going to rifle a slant to the TE or throw a fade to the corner.

Minus the shaky goal line score, that drive was solid. Converted a tough 3rd down, overcame a holding penalty with some solid inside running, and it looked to me like they had to hold to prevent a touchdown on that pass. Plus we threw in some wildcat.

I just don't have any confidence that our defense can keep them from putting up points. Plus after our first possession the offensive play calling generally goes way downhill.

doesn't really matter. on goalline safties will be up anyway. just takes a guy from backfield and puts him out wide, which takes a defender out there. basically takes a linebacker from the box, and puts him on qb. even if you think the rb won't throw, you can't leave anyone uncovered. camp is good, but he's not a guy you double on goalline. so they are playing man to man on us.

Between the 12 yard cushion scheme and Okoro being Okoro, this is going to be a long game.

Jeez. Put KJ on Matthews. Okoro is getting killed.

Ps, where is lectro to tell us how great Okoro is?
