    Wake Forest football 2020 outlook

Edit to add: the QB isn’t the sole reason for this expectation. I’m expecting the RB rotation and the combo of Sage/Greene/Co. to make this offense a well-oiled machine, assuming the OL will be at least serviceable.

Official Forbes' assistant coaches: McKie, Savage, Childress

Always good to see a very sensible and clear-headed take on a situation. Dead on, in my opinion.

    Wake-Boston College Thread

The BC game last year was the game that got Sawvel fired. Not the ND game. I think we are going to see an inspired game from our defense this Saturday.

    Utah St.

One thing that really interests me about this game: we are significantly bigger/more physically imposing (our receivers vs their DBs/our DBs vs their receivers - even our QB vs their DEs and LBs/safeties), yet it seems none of us are comfortable with the idea that we “should” win this game. I...

How Many Wins for Wake Forest Football 2019 ?

Deacs go 9-3. Highlights: Start the season 6-0, or better. Beat FSU Win the state (NC championship)

    Wake Forest Football Recruiting

I think this assessment is getting to the truth of the situation. I don’t think Hemphill is at all concerned with having enough traditional DT bodies. There are very few teams running an offense that makes DT girth a key factor (like, say, Pittsburgh). We are likely to see a lot of snaps with...

    2019 Football — Position Battles

7-5 would be a slight disappointment to me, but that certainly makes sense (other than the Villanova part - are they a different year?).

    2019 Football — Position Battles

My guess is that when the UNC, State, then Duke games roll around in 2019 we will be favored in each of the three games. When, if ever, might that have happened before? An 8-4 season looks to be a very reasonable expectation: 6-6 floor, 10-2 ceiling.

    Overlooked MVP's

Agreed. Would add that the defense against NC State, Duke, Memphis, and even (to some extent) Pitt, gives me hope for the future under Hemphill’s leadership.

    [Unofficial] Tulane Prediction Thread

Agreed. The only way we see the under is if the WF defense makes a powerful statement in this game. Claw has made it very clear that we are not going to play cautiously on offense. We will be uptempo and we will either score a lot or turn it over a lot. Either way, the under is very...

Wake wins with surprising ease - 34-17 Colburn for 121 Smenda gets 6 tackles and looks impressive Strnad has a good start to an All-ACC season Commentators say something to the effect of: “Hartman is certainly not acting like a freshman.” 1st half feels like it will be close, but the second...

Wake Forest Football 2018 Offseason Discussion

I’m guessing the real surprise will be how well our defense performs at Tulane. Being favored against BC, that’s going to be the first real challenge. Can we bring the necessary intensity and win a tough fight against a legit Heisman candidate?

Clawson Credibile! (will reconsider if he sits Newman for another scrappy gym rat QB)

Exactly. It’s perfectly reasonable for Clawson to say what he has said and yet still take the opportunity to redshirt Sam if the opportunity arises. Right now the priority is having a full on competition for starter - and if Sam wins the competition outright, then the question is moot. If...
