    MBB Game 19: #19 Clemson Tigers @ LJVM -- Tuesday 9pm - Regional Sports Networks (ESPN+)

Wouldn’t hurt to spend an hour or so shooting free throws tomorrow.

    WFU @ NCST 8:00pm ACCN

He could have walked into the end zone on that play if he rolled right.

    WFU @ NCST 8:00pm ACCN

Does it bother anybody besides me that we NEVER roll Sam out, away from the pressure, or that he is frequently throwing so close to the line that it ends up being a flat-footed, all arm throw?

    2022 MLB Season Thread

Shameless self-promotion post: I had a bucket list moment at the Braves-Phillies game last Sunday. I got to play NARCO, the walk-up music for William Contreras, LIVE in the stadium, on the 🎺. Coolest musical moment ever…Braves TV announcers called me Tommy Trumpet, and said “that’s going to...

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

Pretty good explanation, but SOTOGAB and all the other music ensembles are going to be dead in the water if the powers that be don’t see the light soon. A couple more seasons of non-sharing the needed info, and ALL of the music ensembles are going to be history.

Actually, they have been using Yamaha for the past 8 years. Dynasty left when the drumline coach who was a Dynasty-sponsored artist left.

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

When we had full access to incoming student info, the band was 120ish. Now that we have no info provided, the band is 75ish. You can't convince me that student info isn't important to the band's enrollment numbers.

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

Welcome to the world of working with almost-adults. They have to be convinced that some activities are good for them, and that they should continue what they have already invested thousands of hours and dollars in. Do you think the athletic teams would be any good if the coaches just waited to...

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

For a 150 member band at WF, we would probably have 25-30 from Salem, community colleges, etc., so you could drop the $$ amount some. 120 members, 100 of whom were WF students, would be fabulous.

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

Yes, believe it or not, on a thread about the BAND, we are taking about the BAND. There are other threads to discuss the game. If the size and quality of the band don't concern you, then run along to another thread. Some of us DO care.

To my understanding, it's not an admissions office decision :-(

    Not to my knowledge

10K per WF student per year, with the requirement that they play in marching band AND pep band.

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

Haha, true, there is NOTHING to do in Buies Creek :-) I don't know what CU is doing to encourage students to participate, but apparently there is more incentive there than there is here. The administration's decision on protecting the students' information is really killing the recruiting...

    The Marching Deacs ( ? )

We have this discussion every year :-( To summarize the current situation, and to speak to the suggestions of all the experts on this thread: There are about 75 students currently participating in SOTOGAB. Mostly WF students, but a few from Salem, and a few from Forsyth Tech and various other...

    SOTOGAB

Just like the landscape of college basketball has changed dramatically in the past 10 years, so has the recruiting field for band members, especially at a school like Wake Forest, where students don’t come to be in band. With very little tangible incentives to offer, attracting dedicated band...

    2022 College Basketball Coaching Carousel

After listening to the postgame interview today, I don't think Forbes is going anywhere any time soon. Speaking about the loud crowd in LJVM today: "This is what I came here for!"

MBB Game 17: WF plays the most under-performing program - Duke Wed. 7 pm ACCN

    Premature reaction to motorcycle fumes

    SOTOGAB

That happens everywhere, not just Wake Forest. My grad school had 400 people in the band, and people still left at halftime. Most people come to see the game, not what happens at halftime.
